Henrikh was born on January 21, 1989, in Yerevan, Armenia, to Hamlet Mkhitaryan and Marina Taschyan.

His father, Hamlet, was also an Armenian soccer player who played for FC Ararat Yerevan in the 1980s.

At the time of his death, Henrikh was about 7 years old. Besides, Henrikh grew up with an older sister, Monica, who works at the UEFA headquarters.

After the demise of his father, Micki’s mother raised two kids as a single mother.

Marina Taschyan is currently the head of football operations in the Armenian Football Federation.

After a year, they gave birth to a beautiful son on March 4, 2020, and named him Hamlet Mkhitaryan to honor Henrikh’s father.
