On January 24, 2025, a Kentrell Rinehart missing person report was shared on the Columbus subreddit. Kentrell Rinehart happened to be the same person as one of the nation’s top running back prospects.
Rinehart, a Columbus, Ohio native and a three-star recruit, shocked many on December 4, 2024, when he didn’t sign his National Letter of Intent.
The running back had declared his commitment to NC State in July 2024 and had only left to sign his NI, but things didn’t go as planned.
Rinehart transferred to Division I Westland for the final semester of his junior and senior year in 2024.

Football Talent Kentrell Rinehart’s Missing Report Shocked Many
On January 24, 2024, a Reddit user shared a missing report of the running back Kentrell Rinehart.
The user wrote, “Please keep an eye out for missing teenager, Kentrell Rinehart. This is one of my previous students and an around nice kid.”
His missing report had been previously shared on the Ohio Attorney General government website.
The missing report had his name spelled differently, with Kendrell written instead of Kentrell.
Another thing his missing report included was his full name, Kentrell Niko’las Rinehart.
He went missing from Columbus, Ohio, on January 19, 2025.

Anyone who saw or knew anything about Kentrell was requested to contact the Columbus Police Department.
One of the Reddit users wrote they wished a more precise location of where he lived or where he was last seen would have been provided Columbus is a huge city.
Later that day, the original poster informed everyone in the comment section that Kentrell had been found.
The user wrote, “UPDATE HE WAS FOUND no other information available.”
The footballing talent isn’t big on using social media and the last he shared any update about himself was on November 10, 2024, on X (formerly Twitter).
He had tweeted, “NC State is home.”
Kentrell Rinehart On Why He Didn’t Sign His NIL With NC State
The three-star recruit had already announced his commitment to NC State in July 2024. But come December, the running back didn’t sign his NIL deal.
According to Greg Smith of Rivals, Rinehart was evaluating his options. The news was later shared on NC State news website Pack Insider.
Despite writing, “NC State is home,” on his X page, Rinehart had a change of heart in a month.
Before his verbal commitment to NC State in July, the youngster had received several offers, including one from Syracuse, Iowa, Miami, Minnesota, and Missouri.
In October 2024, Kentrell visited the University of South Florida. The visit came three months after his verbal commitment, and during those three months, Rinehart hadn’t visited any other colleges.
When Rinehart had committed to NC State, the running back said:
Coach D and Coach Goebbel made me feel at home the most and Coach Suge does a great job. Other programs that they offer and their engineering program for sure [were other factors], it’s one of the top in the country

Previously, the running back had sat down for an interview with Dispatch and had answered a few questions, including why he wanted to play for NC State.
Rinehart said coach Goebbel was one of the biggest reasons, as he knew how to recruit.
Kentrell also said he hopes coach Goebbel could turn into a running back who can play in the NFL.
