Despite efforts, she passed away that day, prompting tremendous grief in the whole community.

Brylie Cox Was A Multi-Sport Star At Hoopeston High School!

Brylie Cox was a senior at Hoopeston (IL) High School, Class of 2025.

Athletically versatile, she excelled on the varsity teams in basketball (#11, forward/small forward, team captain), volleyball (#11, outside hitter), and softball (#10).

During the 2024–25 basketball season, she averaged around 6.8 points, 5.8 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 2.5 steals per game.

Her well-rounded performance placed her well above national averages and highlighted her impact as a key player for Hoopeston Area High School.

Notably, her scoring efficiency, 8.5 points per 32 minutes, earned her recognition among the top 90 players in Illinois, the top 41 in Division 2A, and the top 4 in the Vermilion Valley Conference.

Additionally, she had standout performances, including a 17-point game in a win over Pen‑Bay League opponents.

She also recorded multiple double-figure scoring and rebound games, such as an 8‑rebound showing against Arcola in January 2025.

In addition to her basketball success, Cox was a key varsity player in both volleyball and softball.

As an outside hitter wearing jersey #11 on the volleyball team, she played in 205 sets throughout her high school career.

During the 2024–25 season alone, she recorded 102 kills in 64 sets, averaging approximately 1.6 kills per set with a hitting percentage of 27.5% on 371 total attempts.

Her strong performance placed her among the top 16 in kills within the Vermilion Valley Conference in her senior season.

Brylie also played varsity softball, wearing jersey #10, although specific statistics such as batting average, RBIs, or fielding metrics were not publicly available.

Nevertheless, her inclusion on the varsity roster in three sports, along with her active involvement in cheerleading, highlighted her athletic versatility and dedication.

Beyond her athletic achievements, she was widely admired for her leadership, positive energy, and uplifting presence both on and off the court.

The Hoopeston Community And Her Family Are Mourning Brylie’s Heartbreaking Loss!

Brylie Cox was especially excited for Homecoming season and planned to attend college after high school and pursue a career as a crime scene investigator (CSI).

One of her biggest goals was to travel the world and explore new places. Tragically, her life and promising future were cut short far too soon.

Her sudden death deeply impacted her family, teammates, and the Hoopeston community.

One of Brylie Cox’s loved ones shared a heartfelt tribute on Facebook, posting a photo collage and writing:

Ginger did a wonderful collection of photos of this young lady. My heart breaks for her family but they will see her again in Heaven. Until then, she will be their guardian angel led by our Savior. Lotsa prayers going up for the Cox family

Please keep them and our small community in your prayers

Plans are underway for memorial events, including jersey retirements, special games, and moments of remembrance at upcoming school functions.

Our heartfelt condolences go out to Brylie Cox’s family, friends, and well-wishers.

Rest In Peace, Beautiful Soul!
