Serena Williams is a retired American professional tennis player. She is one of the greatest tennis players in history and has achieved the world’s No. 1 ranking in singles by the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA).

Born in Saginaw, Michigan, on September 26, 1981, she started playing tennis at the young age of four under her father, Richard Williams’ guidelines.

Though she wanted to debut professionally at fourteen, her parents wished for her to wait until she was sixteen.

Despite their decision, she aimed to participate in the Bank of the West Classic in Oakland, California, but unfortunately, the WTA denied her due to age restrictions.

Later, Serena Williams made her professional debut in October 1995 at the Bell Challenge in Quebec.
