The small North Texas town of Howe is in shock following the arrest of Andrew Harvey, the head football coach and athletic director of Howe Independent School District.
Harvey, who was hired to lead the Bulldogs’ football program in 2024, has been charged with multiple offenses involving the solicitation of a minor.
According to Tarrant County inmate records, Harvey is currently in custody at the Tarrant County Corrections Center.
The charges filed against him include solicitation of prostitution of a person under 18, online solicitation of a minor for sexual conduct, and sale/distribution/display of harmful material to a minor.
The allegations were first communicated to the public via an email sent by Howe ISD Superintendent Kevin Wilson on June 24, 2025.
In the message, Wilson emphasized the district’s commitment to student safety and confirmed that Harvey had been immediately placed on administrative leave.
He is prohibited from accessing school property or contacting any students or staff during the ongoing investigation.
Wilson wrote,
“Howe ISD takes any allegations or charges involving a child seriously. The safety and well-being of our students is our highest priority.”
Wilson also noted that Harvey passed all standard background checks, including fingerprint-based reviews through the FBI and Texas Department of Public Safety, at the time of his original hiring in June 2022.
The school district states that it has reported the incident to the Texas Education Agency, the State Board for Educator Certification, and the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services.
Athletic Booster Club Condemns Exploitation
The Howe Athletic Booster Club issued a public statement condemning the situation, reaffirming its mission to support student athletes while denouncing any form of child exploitation.
The statement read,
“The board believes that ANY exploitation of a child is abhorrent and those responsible should face the harshest penalty possible for fracturing the innocence of a child.”
The club also expressed its intention to continue supporting the affected students and helping them prepare for the upcoming school year.
Andrew Harvey Was A Trusted Figure, Now Under Scrutiny
Harvey had been a familiar presence in the district’s athletics for years, having served as defensive coordinator before being promoted to head coach and athletic director in May 2024.
He was the 28th head coach in the school’s football history.
The revelation of his arrest has shocked students, parents, and faculty alike, not only because of his high-ranking position but also because he is reportedly a married father.
The full impact on his family remains unknown.
The Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office is leading the investigation, and no further details about the arrest have been released at this time.
Superintendent Wilson has urged the community to report any related concerns directly to law enforcement.
For those with information, authorities can be reached at: Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office: (817) 884-3099 or Texas Department of Family and Protective Services: (800) 252-5400.
As the case unfolds, Howe ISD has pledged to remain transparent while also respecting the legal process and maintaining the privacy of any potential victims.
