Indiana Native and Avid Golfer Joseph Max Trott Passes Away at 75, Remembered by Family and Friends

Joseph Max Trott, a Greentown, Indiana native and beloved golfer, passed away on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at the age of 75, leaving his family, friends, and loved ones devastated.

While the actual cause of his death is not yet available, according to his obituary page, Joseph Max Trott passed away at Five Star Residences of Noblesville.

Joseph, also known as Joe, was known for his amazing athletic skills and his kind and humble nature, always ready to help people in need.

Furthermore, Joseph began his sports journey from a very young age and played multiple sports while attending Eastern High School. He earned his BSBA from Indiana Institute of Technology.

He was an avid golfer and was working at Purgatory Golf Course in Noblesville after retiring from his 30-year career as a labor relations specialist at the Chrysler Plant in Kokomo.

Similarly, he was a fan of Purdue basketball and football, and the Chicago Bears and White Sox.

Joseph Max Trott also enjoyed coaching youth baseball, golfing, boating, and guiding them in their sports journey.

The passing of Joseph Max Trott has left a profound void in the lives of his family, friends, and loved ones.

Joseph Max Trott is Survived By His Children, Grandchildren, and The Whole Family

The longtime Noblesville resident, Joseph Max Trott, was a great father to his two children, son Travis Trott and daughter Meredith Trott Dean.

Furthermore, Joseph raised both of his children to be successful in their respective fields.

His son, Travis Trott, is pursuing his career in finance and has been serving as a director of Global Distribution at Axalta since 2021.

Prior to that, he served as the senior vice president of operations of Medco and CFO of Echo Engineering and Production Supplies, Inc.

Similarly, he worked with FinishMaster, Inc. for over 19 years in different positions, including CFO, VP-Finance and Supply Chain, Director of Operations, and Controller.

Travis also served as the Senior Financial Analyst at Chrysler and a Senior Accountant at MacMillan Bloedel.

Talking about his education, Travis Trott attended Purdue University before earning his BS in major accounting from Indiana University in 1993 and his MBA in Finance from Indiana University-Kelley School of Business in 1998.

While very little information about Joseph’s daughter, Meredith Trott Dean, is available, she served as the instructional assistant at Noblesville Schools for almost four years.

She also served as the marketing and PR at Indianapolis Motor Speedway and Promotions Director at WFBQ/The Bob and Tom Show. Meredith earned a B.A. in PR from Purdue University in 1993.

In addition to his children, Joseph Max Trott is survived by his daughter-in-law, Jill Trott, son-in-law, Jeff Dean, granddaughters, Grace Dean (fiancee, Jordan), Bridget Dean and Lily Trott, neices, Alisha (Brian) Oldfather, Ashley (John) Ault, Andrea (Chad) Collns, and Dawnetta (Don) Sparks, and the whole family.
