Two years after the passing of his beloved wife Margot, legendary coach Dick Tighe found companionship again, marrying Wyn Ann Allen in 2014.

Richard “Dick” Tighe was a legendary high school football coach in Iowa, known for his career spanning 63 seasons and accumulating 432 wins.

He coached at several schools, including St. Edmond Catholic School, Webster City High School, Iowa Falls-Alden High School, and Carroll Kuemper High School.

His coaching philosophy was simple yet effective. He relied on a handful of plays that his teams mastered over the years.

Tragically, Tighe passed away on April 29, 2025, at the age of 94, leaving his family and the whole football community devastated.

Legendary Coach Tighe Took His Last Breath, 13 Years After Losing His Beloved Wife, Margot!

Dick Tighe was married to Margot Daly on April 27, 1953, at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Sioux City, Iowa.

They had six children together and shared nearly 59 years of marriage.

Throughout their life, Margot and Dick moved across various communities, including Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri; Hamilton, Ontario, Canada and Fort Dodge, Iowa; Carroll, Iowa.

In 1967, the pair settled in Webster City, Iowa, raising six children.

Margot was born to parents Paul and Helen Merydith Daly on August 28, 1933, in St. Joseph, MO.

She graduated in 1951 from Bishop Heelan High School in Sioux City, IA.

Regarding her profession, she worked in secretarial and bookkeeping roles and was deeply involved in St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church.

She was known for her dedication and support for her family and community.

Sadly, Margot passed away on August 31, 2012, at the age of 79, following a prolonged illness.

Tighe later remarried Wyn Ann Allen on December 13, 2014. At that time, he was 84 years old, and their marriage marked a new chapter in his life.

During that time, Tighe was involved in the Iona High School football.

Since there are no public reports about Allen’s current status, it’s reasonable to think that if she is still living, she is mourning the loss of Dick Tighe.
