The Rangers have recently won the championship of the World Series under the management of Bruce Bochy. This has enabled Davis to get a one-up on his close competition. 

Born on October 15, 1941, in Overton, Texas, Ray Davis is a seasoned businessman who has led many enormous companies. 

Prior to his current endeavor, he was the co-CEO and chairman of Energy Transfer Partners (ETP) as well as the chairman of Energy Transfer Equity (ETE).

Additionally, $1 million to International Justice Mission, another Christian-oriented human-rights organization based in Washington, D.C.

The mission seeks to rescue victims of slavery and other forms of violent oppression.

His Ethnicity And Political Leanings 

The business tycoon has preferred to remain an enigma and hasn’t disclosed anything about his ethnicity as of yet. 

However, there have been several reports of him having a pick when it comes to politics. 

It’s already established that he is a philanthropist and loves giving back to the community. Although some of his donations are driven by humanitarian intentions, others are fueled by political motivations.

According to state campaign finance records, Davis has given at least $225,000 to Texans in support of Greg Abbott, the state’s right-wing Republican governor, since 2021.

He has also contributed to the campaigns of other Republican candidates.

As of 2024, Davis has a personal net worth of $2.9 billion, according to Forbes magazine.

He was the CEO of two fossil fuel firms before entering the baseball business: Energy Transfer Partners (ETP) and Energy Transfer Equity (ETE).

ETP is a pipeline and natural gas distributor. Davis resigned as CEO in 2007. However, he still owns 2.4% of the company.

Davis made his first appearance on the Forbes 400 list in 2008, ranked 367th with a net worth of $1 billion.

In 2012, he ranked 315th with a net worth of $1.5 billion, while in 2013, he ranked 296th with a net worth of $1.9 billion.

Despite protests from the Standing Rock Sioux tribe, Energy Transfer completed the construction of the $3.8 billion Dakota Access Pipeline in 2017.

The firm owns and manages over 125,000 miles of pipeline, which transports around 30% of America’s oil and natural gas.

Davis and a group of investors paid roughly $600 million for the Texas Rangers in 2010, and the team is now worth $1.5 billion.
