Former NBA star Isaiah Thomas is grappling with profound grief as he mourns the loss of his older sister, LaQuisha Baldtrip, who passed away on November 20, 2024.

Isaiah Thomas is a professional NBA point guard who recently faced another tragedy after going once in 2017.

He lost his older sister just six years after his younger sister, Chyna, lost her life in a fatal car crash.

Isaiah lost his beloved younger sister, Chyna Thomas, in a car accident on Saturday morning, April 15, 2017.

Meanwhile, several big media outlets have covered the untimely demise of the athlete’s elder sister, Quisha. However, the reason behind her passing remains unknown.

Losing a close one is always hard, but losing two sisters within six years has severely broken Isaiah Thomas’s heart.

NBA Superstar Isaiah Thomas Grew up With Two Sisters Around, but Both Abandoned Him Early!

Isaiah Thomas has faced profound loss with the passing of two sisters, Chyna Thomas, the younger, and LaQuisha, the older.

Both sisters played essential roles in his life, and as a close-knit family, their passing would hurt him forever.

According to the reports, Isiah’s younger sister was just 22 years old at the time of her fatal car accident in 2017.

So, Chyna was born around 1995, six years younger than the current superstar player of the Phoenix Suns, Isaiah Jamar Thomas.

She was younger but brought joy to those around her, especially her brother, who had a good bond with her.

Despite further analysis, we got no information regarding her education and profession.

Besides, Isaiah Thomas’s elder sister, LaQuisha Baldtrip, also passed away just a few days ago, on November 21.

Baldtrip’s life was significantly less crowded than Chyna’s, so we know little about her background and family.

Further digging into her life, we discovered her Instagram handle, but she had kept it private, making accessing information inside it impossible.

However, we know that Thomas’s siblings were born to parents James Thomas and Tina Baldtrip. The Thomas family belongs to the African American heritage, which is common in basketball.

Reports suggest that there were three siblings, two of whom have already passed. Isaiah might also have other siblings who have yet to appear in the media.

Since he has posted about everything and everyone on Instagram, it sounds unusual for him not to post about his other sibling.

LaQuisha passed away on November 20, 2024, but the media haven’t publicly disclosed the exact cause of her death.

The athlete announced it through a heartfelt Instagram story, which immediately caught the headlines.

He shared an emotional tribute on Instagram, stating, “Ima miss you big sis!!! Damn, how you leave me too? Two sisters gone!!!! This can’t be real. I love and miss you, Queen.

People understood his grief as he also reacted on X with a simple post: “F**k” accompanied by broken heart emojis.

Isaiah further added, “How?? Why?? I don’t like to question God but damn man.

However, this isn’t the first time something like this has happened to him; he already had lost a younger sister in 2017.

Chyna Thomas tragically lost her life in a car accident on March 15, 2017, at the age of 22.

The incident occurred on Interstate 5 in Washington around 5 AM when her vehicle moved off the road and struck a barrier.

Eyewitnesses clarified that she wasn’t wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, leading to spotted death.

Just a day after her death, Isaiah honored her memory during an NBA playoff game by wearing “Chyna, RIP Lil Sis.

In Case You Didn’t Know:

  • He was not heavily recruited out of high school and was considered undersized at 5’9.
  • Isaiah was named after Isiah Thomas, the Lakers’ nemesis.
  • The Sacramento Kings drafted him in the 2011 NBA Draft.
