Jesse J. Threlkeld Jr., a former student-athlete from J.L. Mann High School, passed away untimely on April 23, 2025, at the age of 53, leaving his family and community mourning.
His life was cut short in an accident while doing what he loved most. He was practicing throwing batting with his son, and a line drive struck him in the throat.
Originally from Greenville, South Carolina, he was known for his contributions to the varsity baseball team.

Jesse Threlkeld, born on November 25, 1971, was a dedicated coach and a committed director at Doctor for Life Fitness.
Before transitioning into coaching at JL Mann High School, he was a promising baseball player.
In addition to his playing and coaching career, he worked as a committed director at Doctor for Life Fitness, where he spent eight years helping people improve their health through exercise and support.
He was not just a respected coach and mentor; he was a beloved husband and father.
Jesse Threlkeld’s family and community are deeply mourning his passing. Many have taken to social media to pay tribute to his legacy and memories.
The Doctor for Life Fitness shared their heartfelt tribute, saying:
JT embodied kindness, compassion, and dedication—not only to his family but to all of us. His legacy will live on in every life he touched. Our team will never be the same.

His presence in the sport will be deeply missed. A memorial service has been scheduled for Sunday, April 27, 2025, at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Southeast Chapel.
