David and Fannie helped their son to improve his skills by providing him with training, techniques, and books related to assorted basketball players.

High School Career

Brown enrolled at Findlay Prep High School in Henderson, Nevada, where he played basketball for the high school team and averaged 16 points per game.

He transferred to Oakland High School in the mid-year. During his junior season, he logged 23.5 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game.

Similarly, in his senior season in 2010-11, he scored 23.8 points and 4.1 rebounds per game.

After his brilliant high school career, he was rated the No.19 national prospect of the 2011 Class.

College Career

Jabari Brown enrolled at the Oregon Ducks men’s basketball team in 2011. After playing two games with Oregon, Brown transferred to the University of Missouri.

During his sophomore, he logged 13.7 points per game and assisted the team to a 23-11 record.

As a result, he was named All-SEC first team and NABC Division I All-District 21 first team.

In April 2014, he declared for the NBA draft, forgoing his remaining college eligibility.

Professional Career

Brown went undrafted in the 2014 NBA draft and joined the Houston Rockets for the 2014 NBA Summer League.

Then, in September 2014, he signed with the Los Angeles Lakers, and after featuring for four preseason games, he got waived.

Later in November 2014, he was acquired by the affiliate team of the Los Angeles Lakers, the Los Angeles D-Fenders of the NBA Development League.

With the D-Fenders, he logged a D-League season-high 50 points on 16-of-22 shooting in a victory against the Sioux Falls Skyforce.

Accordingly, in March 2015, he signed a 10-day deal with the Lakers, followed by another 10-day deal.

The former Lakers shooting guard recorded 22 points against the Philadelphia 76ers, which resulted in him signing a multi-year contract the next day.

In April 2015, he recorded 32 points against the Sacramento Kings during the regular-season finale.

However, he was waived by the Lakers before the beginning of the 2015-16 season. Following the waiver, in November 2015, Brown signed with the Foshan Long Lions of the Chinese Basketball Association.

After appearing in 27 games in the 2015-16 season for Foshan, he recorded 32.4 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 1.1 steals per game.

In March 2016, he was acquired by the Los Angeles D-Fenders for the second stint. He debuted for the team in a victory against the Bakersfield Jam and scored 26 points, 1 rebound, 2 assists, and 1 steal in 27 minutes of gameplay.

Consequently, he suffered from a season-ending injury, and in the meantime, the team waived him.

Later, Brown signed with the Milwaukee Bucks in September 2016, but his time with the Bucks ended early after he was waived in October 2016.

Other Teams

Afterward, he signed with the Chinese team, Jilin Northeast Tigers, for the 2016-17 season. With the Tigers, he appeared in 30 games and logged 33.9 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 3.1 assists in 32.9 minutes per game.

The Santa Cruz Warriors acquired brown in March 2017, and later, he played with Golden State Warriors in the 2017 NBA Summer League.

Brown returned to the Chinese Basketball Association after signing with the Jiangsu Dragons in January 2018.

In February 2018, he returned for his second stint with the Santa Cruz Warriors. In November 2019, he was acquired by the Rio Grande Valley Vipers of the American professional basketball team.

With the Valley Vipers, he was sidelined until December after an injury. After his return, he was handed a game suspension after leaving the bench during an altercation in a 132-109 loss to the Memphis Hustle on December 17, 2019.
