Bridget Moynahan and Tom Brady’s kid has grown into a mini version of the NFL legend. The former couple welcomed their son, John “Jack” Edward Thomas, in 2007.
While Tom Brady is best known as a seven-time NFL champion and football legend, one of his most cherished titles is simply ‘Dad’ — a role he first embraced when his son Jack was born.
The former NFL quarterback broke up with his pregnant girlfriend, Moynahan, in 2006. The Blue Blood star gave birth to their child on 22 August 2007.
By the time Jack was born, his father had started dating supermodel Gisele Bündchen. Brady admitted in 2020 that Bridget’s pregnancy challenged him.
Brady admitted that the situation was challenging—not just for him, but also for both Bridget and Gisele.
“Next thing you know, I found out that Bridget was pregnant with our son. It challenged me in a lot of ways, again, to grow up in a different way,”
Despite it all, the NFL legend embraced being Jack’s father and has described his son as “the greatest kid you could ever ask for.”
Moynahan also shares a close bond with her son. In September 2023, the actress revealed that they bond over music together.

The former couple welcomed their only kid together at St. John’s Medical Center in Santa Monica, California.
“Tom was not in the delivery room. He was there on that day and came in afterward. He certainly wasn’t holding my hand while I pushed,” Bridget shared with More magazine.
However, the former athlete was just as thrilled as the actress to welcome their child.
According to People, Patriots owner Robert Kraft even lent Brady his private jet so he could travel across the country swiftly.
Jack, 17, spent most of his childhood living with his mother. However, he also maintained a close bond with his father, Tom Brady, and Brady’s then-wife, Gisele Bündchen.
In 2011, Bridget Moynahan told More Magazine that “her son has two loving parents and an extended family, whether it’s cousins or stepmothers or boyfriends. Jack is surrounded by love.”
Despite what the media says, Moynahan said she has a good relationship with Brady and Bündchen.
Years later, in 2019, the former model expressed her gratitude for Bündchen’s support in raising Jack.
She said,
“Tom and I decided to raise our child together, and we both found partners who not only supported us but also loved Jack as their own.”
On the other hand, Gisele Bündchen admitted she thought about leaving Tom Brady when she found out his ex was pregnant early in their relationship.
The supermodel said she felt confused but decided to see it through. She is now grateful and calls Jack her “bonus child.”
In 2020, the former Victoria’s Secret model told a fan that she prefers “bonus mom” over “stepmom” because it feels like a blessing.
Even after her divorce from Brady, she continues to support Jack. She shared in 2023 that Jack’s presence “awakened” her desire to become a mom.
Jack Is Following In His Father’s Footsteps
John Edward Thomas Moynahan grew up enjoying many sports. In 2018, Brady shared that his oldest loves soccer.
“I think the kids are into watching football because of their dad, but … My oldest son Jack really loves soccer. He wants to be an Olympic soccer goalie.”

Similarly, in 2017, Moynahan also shared that Jack was very interested in soccer.
“Though after the Olympics he’s like, ‘I think I’m going to win a gold in swimming.’ Then it was Michael Phelps. So I think he just likes awards.”

However, Jack follows in his father’s footsteps as he plays quarterback on his high school football team.
Tom said that watching Jack play football is one of his life’s great highlights. The father-son duo also enjoy playing other sports like golf together.
However, Moynahan thinks Jack is just a normal kid who doesn’t really know what he wants to do yet, and wants to let Jack decide his future without pressure from their careers.
