The Las Vegas Aces drafted the professional shooting guard with the first overall pick in the 2019 WNBA draft.

Young graduated from Princeton High School and committed to play for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

During her collegiate career, she led her team to two NCAA finals and won one in 2018. In addition to that, Jackie was the gold medalist in women’s 3×3 basketball.

Jackie has posted pictures of herself on the beach. One of the photos featured a man kissing her cheek. However, she hasn’t revealed any information regarding this man.

We can only assume that she might be in a relationship with this guy.

Reasons Behind Her Success

Besides her mother Linda Young, Jackie credits her uncles and aunts, with whom she shares a close-knit relationship, for her successful career.

She had a hard time growing up, living in an extended family’s shared housing.

“My mom, a single mother, made a lot of sacrifices for me and my siblings,” Young said.

The shooting guard always speaks highly of her mother and credits her for all her sacrifices.

Jackie Young Injury

Young sustained an injury in the fourth quarter of the Aces 97-90 loss to the Connecticut Sun.

She recorded season-high 26 points before leaving the court. Had she played a full game, the final results might have differed.

The shooting guard was diagnosed with a right ankle sprain, ruling her out two games.

The coach, Becky Hammon of Ace, said that the shooting guard did well and that she is an exceptional athlete. Hammon also believes that Young will never let herself get out of shape.

Jackie is the Aces’ crucial player, so missing a player like her for an extended period due to the injury would hamper the Aces’ performance.

However, her ankle injury did not strand her for too long. Upon her return, she was as productive as before.

On her return, Jackie said, “I’m just trying to get back into a rhythm,” she said. “It was my first time really playing five-on-five up and down. I’m happy to be back. I feel fine.”
