Former NFL player Jamaal Charles has been married to his wife, Whitney Golden, since June 2, 2012. They engaged just under a year ago, in July 2011.
The couple first met in eighth grade in Texas, and they are already parents to three children: Isaiah Jamaal Charlles, Makaila Charles, and Makenzie Charles.
All his kids were already born before his retirement on May 1, 2019. He signed a one-day contract with the Kansas City Chiefs, where it all started.
He was drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in the third round as the 73rd overall in 2008. The RB signed his first Rookie contract on July 21, 2008, and just under two months later, he made his NFL debut.
Jamaal stuck with the same team, playing nine seasons until 2016, before switching to the Denver Broncos, where he played only one season. In his final year as a professional in 2018, he signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars mid-season and played just two games before being released.
Kasandra Perkins Was The Cousin Of Jamaal Charles’ Wife, Whitney Gold
Late Kasandra Pekins, who was the girlfriend of the Kansas City Chiefs player Jovan Belcher, is Whitney Gold’s first cousin.
Pekins was shot nine times by his boyfriend, before he dove to the Chiefs’ training facility and committed suicide using a handgun.
As Jovan Belcher was playing for the Chiefs before the suicide-murder case he also shared pthe itch with Jamaal Charles. They played over fifty games together for the NFL team.
Jamaal Charles and his wife also released the following statement after the incident;
“Our family has suffered a personal tragic loss. Kassandra Perkins was in-fact first cousin to my wife, Whitney. As this is a very tough time for our family, I ask that we are respected as we grieve. Kassandra was not only family, but a friend and a loving mother. As my actual family and my Kansas City Chiefs family have been altered forever, we ask that you keep us and most importantly their child in prayer.”
Belcer and Perkins were just 25 and 22 at the time of their deaths, and to this day, no concrete evidence has been found; though there were signs of Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy and high blood alcohol content in Jovan.
