College Career

Franklin attended San Diego State, where he played college basketball for three years.

Professional Career

Franklin was assigned with the 41st overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft by the Memphis Grizzlies.

During his rookie season, he had multiple assignments with the Fort Wayne Mad Ants of the NBA Development.

In July 2014, he joined the team for the 2014 NBA Summer League, and later in August 2014, he was waived by the Grizzlies.

Then in October 2014, Franklin joined the Zhejiang Lions of the Chinese Basketball Association for a two-month contract. 

After signing one month’s contract extension, he logged 53 points on a 19-of-29 shooting in a Zhejiang victory.

Likewise, after appearing in 26 games of Zhejiang, he left the team in January 2015.

The Los Angeles D-Fenders of the NBA Development League acquired Franklin in January, he had a season-best game with 27 points, and he added 13 rebounds during his stint with D-Fenders.

Other Teams

In April 2015, he signed with the Denver Nuggets and made his debut the next day against the Sacramento Kings.

The Nuggets subsequently waived Franklin in July 2015.

Then, he signed for a second stint with the D-League team, Guangdong Southern Tigers of the Chinese Basketball Association but left the Tigers before appearing in a game.

The Los Angeles D-Fenders acquired him in December 2016, and he split up his ways with D-Fenders and signed with the Shanxi Brave Dragons of the Chinese Basketball Association.

Later in April 2016, he signed with Brujos de Guayama of the Puerto Rican Baloncesto Superior Nacional and shortly left the team after appearing in four games.

Franklin re-signed with Shaxi Brave Dragons of the Chinese Basketball Association for the 2016-17 season.

In the meantime, he became the first player to perform a 60-point triple-double in the history of CBA.

Then, he signed with the Chinese team, Sichuan Blue Whales; later, he joined the Shaxi Loongs.
