The American golfer James Hahn left his $200k job to pursue golf soon after graduation. His wife, Stephanie, was the one to push him to make a career in golf.
James probably would have continued working in the advertising agency if it weren’t for his wife, Stephanie’s support.
And today, it has been two decades since James started playing golf professionally.
The 42-year-old golfer will be seen in action at Rocket Mortgage Classic. He will go head-to-head against Doug Ghim and Mark Hubbard to try to win his third PGA tour event.

James Hahn’s wife, Stephanie Hahn, previously worked at Five Prime Therapeutics. She graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, with a Chemical Biology degree, in 2005.
After graduation, Stephanie worked at Children’s Hospital Oakland Research Institute as a research associate.
She then went on to work for TechLink Systems as a research associate, a job that lasted for one and a half years.
In 2007, Stephanie joined Greentech as a research assistant and worked there for four years before joining her last known job at Five Prime Therapeutics.
Since leaving Five Prime Therapeutics in 2013, Stephanie hasn’t updated her LinkedIn account.
The better half of James Hahn has tried her best to remain away from the limelight. She is available on Instagram with the username @stephaniemhahn but has kept her account private.
James And Stephanie Hahn Are Parents To A Girl
James and Stephanie might have first crossed paths during their university days as they studied at the University of California, Berkeley.
In an interview with The Sporting News, James credited his better half for his golfing career.
After graduating from college, James decided to quit his golfing career and take up a job in an advertising agency.
But it was as clear as daylight that James missed playing the sport. His wife, who back then was his girlfriend, supported his decision to leave the $200k job and pursue his passion.
Right at that moment, James knew Stephanie was the one for him, and soon the couple tied the knot.
And a few years fast forward, James is enjoying his professional golf career, and he shares a baby girl named Kailee with the love of his life, his wife Stephanie.
Their Daughter Is The Next Golf Star
Kailee, born in 2015, has already shown she is ready to follow in her father’s footsteps.
In 2016, the professional golfer, to commemorate his 13 years of playing golf, shared a picture of his daughter picking up a club at the Metropolitan Golf Links.
In 2020, during the lockdown, Kailee might’ve stepped up her golf training. Her dad shared a video of her giving it a swing and even said it was better than his.
A year later, James shared a video of him and Kailee practicing golf, and as they stood side-by-side, their swing couldn’t have been more similar.
James captioned the video, “She is starting to get the golf bug!”
Last year, James shared a video of Kailee and talked about the advice he gives her. He said he has been teaching his daughter to grip properly, have a long backswing, and swing as fast as possible.
With her dad as her golf coach, it is evident that Kailee will sooner or later be playing golf, following in her father’s footsteps.
