James Trafford’s parents, James and Alison Trafford, have been in the farming sector for more than three decades. The Burnley goalkeeper comes from a family of farmers.
But the trend has been broken by him and his sister, Charlotte. The two siblings even won the Young Farmers Award as kids but have chosen different paths compared to their parents.
A Manchester City academy product, James didn’t make a single appearance for the seven-time Premier League Champions. He was loaned to Accrington Stanley in 2021 and later to Bolton Wanderers.
James found stability in his career with Bolton and even won the EFL Trophy. Earlier this summer, Trafford signed with Vincent Kompany’s side Burnley for £19 million.
This move to Burnley made him their record transfer signing. Trafford has started for the side in all four of their Premier League games but hasn’t managed to keep a clean sheet.
James Trafford Parents, James And Alison Trafford
James Trafford’s parents, James and Alison Trafford, raised their son on a farm in Greysouthen. Growing up, the Burnley goalkeeper was surrounded by livestock and participated in farming competitions.
His father, James Trafford, a farmer by profession, recently won in the Charolais Sheep category. His sheep, Charollais ewe lamb, won the interbreed category and became the Champion of Champions in the Gosforth Show.
James’ mum, Alison Trafford, is active on Facebook and keeps her friends updated about the next competition the family will participate in and the achievements of their sheep.
The family also loves watching horseracing, with Alison having shared pictures of her and her husband attending some of the shows. Alison and James Sr were present when their son signed with Burnley.
James shared a picture of him putting his signature on the dotted line, with his parents, his sister, and his agents behind him. Proud mother Alison shared the exciting news on her Facebook handle.
James Trafford Sister, Charlotte, And Relation With Thogden
James Trafford has only one sibling, his older sister, Charlotte Thogden. Some fans believe the famous English YouTuber Thogden is his brother, but that’s not true.
Charlotte Thogden completed her schooling at Cockermouth School and has previously worked as a marketing assistant at Thomas Graham & Sons.
She joined David Wood Banking Limited in 2019 and was their HR/Recruiter. Charlotte has been working for the specialist recruitment company Rullion since 2021.
She joined Rullion in 2021 as an associate recruitment consultant and has risen through the ranks. She currently holds the Senior Recruitment Consultant position. Recently, on September 17, Charlotte celebrated turning 24 with her family.
Alison shared a few snaps from the birthday celebration on her Facebook handle. Charlotte is available on Instagram but has kept her account private.
Now, returning to Thogden and James’ relation, the two aren’t twins, as the YouTuber calls it. But why does he say so?
James Is Not Theo’s Brother
In 2019, someone in Theo’s comment section pointed out that James and he looked alike. That might not be the case now, but at the time there were a few similarities between their looks.
So, the YouTuber decided to link up with the footballer, and the two met for the first time outside the Etihad Stadium on October 1, 2019.
Since then, Theo has shown support to James on his social media and shared his achievements while calling him his twin brother. On his YouTube channel, Theo has collaborated on several videos with James.
Theo was also there to watch James and his side lift the EFL Trophy at Wembley, a proud moment, as he calls it. But he also made a video when Bolton failed to gain promotion, marking James’ last game played for the side.
There hasn’t been any content between Theo and the keeper since he joined Burnley, but we might get one soon.
