The former University of Arkansas track star Janeek Brown doesn’t have a wife and isn’t married. The Jamaican track and field athlete previously dated Sha’Carri Richardson.
The record-breaking athlete of the University of Arkansas, Janeek Brown, hasn’t shared much information about her personal life as she isn’t available on social media. But in 2022, her relationship with the American athlete Sha’Carri Richardson blew up on the internet.
Richardson, who hadn’t named her toxic ex in an Instagram story, wrote she was abused by a Jamaican athlete while in a relationship. Shortly after, Brown came forward, admitting it was her.
Since then, the duo hasn’t mentioned each other, and it looks like Sha’Carri now only wants to focus on her athletic career, and she clearly showed it on her debut at World Athletics Championships.
The American athlete won gold at the 2023 Athletic Championships setting a championship record of 10.65 secs. The Jamaican duo of Shericka Jackson and Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce took silver and bronze medals.

Janeek Brown doesn’t have a wife and is not currently in a relationship. The Jamaican athlete hasn’t shared much about her family life since her relationship with Sha’Carri Richardson made headlines last year.
Janeek stays away from social media and has previously used only interviews to state her case. Her high profile falling out with the American athlete shocked many as there was involvement of abuse.
Janeek Brown And Sha’Carri Richardson Toxic Relationship
The track and field athletes Janeek Brown and Sha’Carri Richardson do not share an amicable feelings toward each other. Their breakup was nasty, and the relationship was toxic from the get-go.
Janeek and Sha’Carri met during an award show when the Jamaican was 21. and the American athlete was 19. The relationship started during the pandemic and ended two years later, in 2022.
In May 2022, Sha’Carri Richardson shared an Instagram story revealing she was the victim of an abusive relationship with a Jamaican athlete.
The 23-year-old further wrote, “I was abused and stole from yet protected her from the judgment of her country & family while they dragged me.”
She added that she had to deal with homophobia and so much more and was still healing. Later, Brown came out on her own to confirm she indeed abused Sha’Carri and that the relationship wasn’t stable.
Brown admitted to abusing Sha’Carri during an interview with Bwoyatingz By Kareem. During the interview, Brown even encouraged Richardson to file charges as she thinks her ex wants to exploit the abuse as a clout-chasing agenda.
After the video dropped, Sha’Carri chose not to get involved with her ex-flame in an online battle. She has since moved and looks in a much healthier and happier situation.
Janeek Brown Athletic Career
The Jamaican athlete Janeek Brown was previously part of the University of Arkansas track team.
Born on May 14, 1998, Janeek was previously the 2015 U-18 CARIFTA Games 100-meter hurdles champion. While in high school, Brown also won the 2015 Jamaican Champs class 2 100-meter hurdles championship.
Janeek became part of the First-Team All-American after she joined the Razorback in 2018. She competed in eight meets during the indoor session and set a personal best record of 24.18 in 200 meters.
In 2019, Janeek made history by setting the program record in the 100m hurdles at 12.4 and 200 meters at 22.4 at the NCAA Championships. She was named the Boweman Finalist as she tied for the second-fastest performance in the 100-meter hurdles in NCAA History.
But since then, there hasn’t been much info on her track and field career. In 2021, it was reported that she had joined MVP International Track Club, and a year later, the controversy with Sha’Carri came out in public.
