Jayne Kennedy Overton, born in 1951, lived a varied career in TV, movies, modeling, and broadcasting. She first came into the limelight as Miss Ohio in 1970 and competed in the Miss USA Pageant.

Then, the actress appeared on TV shows like “Rowan and Martin’s Laugh-In” and toured with Bob Hope. During the 1970s, she was in many TV shows and ads, including “The Six Million Dollar Man” and “Sanford and Son.”

In 1978, the African-American media personality made history by joining “The NFL Today” and later hosted “Speak Up America.” She won an Emmy for the 1982 Rose Bowl and the NAACP Image Award for “Body and Soul.”

Likewise, the veteran actress supports charities like The United Negro College Fund and The National Council of Negro Women.
