This article was last updated by on

Jim McMahon is the father of four kids- two daughters and two sons. The former athlete gave birth to Alexis, Ashley, Sean, and Zach with his ex-wife Nancy Daines.

McMahon is one of the most notable names coming out of the National Football League in the 80s and 90s.

The legendary athlete hasn’t had an easy life post-retirement.

However, one thing that has remained a constant in his life is his relationship with his children.

James Robert McMahon Jr. was born in Jersey City, New Jersey, on August 21, 1959. He is a former football quarterback who played in the National Football League (NFL) for 15 seasons.

McMahon boasted his best achievements with the Chicago Bears in 1985, winning the team’s first Super Bowl in Super Bowl XX. In addition to that, he won Pro Bowl honors in that same season.

Furthermore, McMahon helped his Eagles team, where he was a backup, to a 10-6 record, earning him the NFL Comeback Player of the Year.

Moreover, before retiring in 1996, he was part of the Green Bay Packers team that won the Super Bowl XXXI against the New England Patriots.

Jim McMahon Kids: Where Are They?

There have been increasing questions about Jim McMahon and his kids. McMahon met Nancy while studying at Brigham Young University (BYU).

The couple dated for four years before deciding to get hitched.

He married his girlfriend Nancy Daines in 1982 and had four kids- Alexis, Ashley, Sean, and Zach.

To McMahon, his kids were the source of pure joy. Indeed, in the off-season, McMahon enjoyed nothing more than staying in his lavish home with his children and wife.

However, McMahon has managed to separate his public life from his private. The legendary quarterback rarely talks about his children.

There is not much information available about any of his children. Thus, finding out where his children are and what they do is cumbersome.

While his children have an Instagram account, they have private accounts.

Nevertheless, McMahon loves profusing his love for his grandchildren. While most of his posts on social media are related to sports, he likes posting the occasional pictures of him spending time with his grandchildren.

Life After Retirement

McMahon had a turbulent life after retiring. From deteriorating health to facing legal troubles, he faced it all.

In 2003, McMahon was charged with Driving Under the Influence (DUI). Reports suggest that the former athlete admitted to being overtly drunk when the authorities pulled him over.

Additionally, he was one of the board members of Broadway Bank, which went under investigation by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) in 2012.

The investigation was related to $104 million in bad loans that Broadway Bank had made. FDIC allegedly wanted to recover the $104 million before the bank shut down.

However, McMahon claimed that the FDIC was targeting him, and their claims were baseless. FDIC finally settled the lawsuit in 2016 for $5 million.

In addition to legal issues, McMahon suffered various health issues. In 2010, McMahon had problems with his memory due to the injuries he had incurred on the field.

McMahon once expressed that he’d often walk into a room and forget why he’d walked in there. Moreover, in August 2011, McMahon, with six other retired football players, filed a lawsuit against the NFL for negligence and how it handles concussion-related injuries.

Furthermore, at the age of 53, the former quarterback was officially diagnosed with early signs of dementia.

While his health has improved, McMahon’s skepticism of the NFL and its sanctioned treatments continues.

McMahon believes that corporate greed has blinded the NFL and argues that it prioritizes profit over the well-being of its players.
