Nate was a reserve quarterback at De La Salle High School in California.
Later, he walked on at Notre Dame as a freshman in 2008 before transferring to Pasadena City College in 2009.
After re-enrolling at Notre Dame the next year, Montana transferred to the University of Montana within a month.
Later, he played for West Virginia Wesleyan in NCAA Division II program in 2012.
However, the prospective football player got undrafted in the 2013 NFL Draft and so ended his playing career.
Like his elder brother, the other kid of Joe Montana, Nick is also a former football quarterback.
Nicholas Alexander Montana began his college football at the University of Washington in 2009. Later, he transferred to Mt. San Antonio College in 2012.
