John Mara and his wife, Denise, had a loving relationship and were dedicated to their family and philanthropic efforts.

President, CEO, and co-owner of the New York Giants, John Kevin Mara, was born on December 1, 1954 to parents Wellington and Ann.

He joined the Giants in 1991 as General Counsel and later served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.

Additionally, he took the presidency role in 2005 following the death of his father, Wellington Mara.

Under his leadership, the Giants have won two Super Bowls, XLII and XLVI, and made several playoff appearances.

Moreover, he is heavily involved in the NFL’s decision-making processes, serving on various committees, including the NFL Competition Committee and the NFL Management Council Executive Committee.

John Mara’s wife was Denise W. Mara, born on May 12, 1954. They met and started dating in the early 1980s and got married in 1983.

Denise was actively involved in various charitable initiatives, particularly those focused on children, education, and healthcare.

Additionally, she played a significant role in the Mara Family Foundation, which supports various charitable initiatives.

Unfortunately, Denise passed away in a car accident on July 9, 2024. Her family, friends, and the entire Giants Community have deeply felt her loss.

Regarding their kids, they have five children together: one son and four daughters: John Jr., Lauren, Courtney, Christine, and Erin.

John Jr., the only son of John and Denise, chose a career in theatre instead of sports.

Moreover, he married his husband, George Sholley, in 2021. His father and the Giants organization have openly supported John Jr.

He participates in various philanthropic activities and actively advocates for the LGBTQ community.

On the other hand, all four daughters have pursued careers in education, contributing to community initiatives and programs.

Lauren Ann Mara holds a master’s degree in education from Columbia. She is a fourth-grade teacher at the New York Convent of the Sacred Heart School.

Now, regarding her marital life, she is married to Steven Robert Chaput in June 2008.

Similarly, Courtney is a third-grade teacher at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School in Bethesda, Maryland.

She received her master’s degree in education from Manhattanville College. Courtney married but has not made her partner’s details, including his name, publicly available.

Christine graduated with a master’s degree in education from Manhattanville College. She is also a kindergarten teacher at the Dalton School in New York. In July 2012, she married Christopher Dodge Ward.

Lastly, Erin Kathryn Mara Brooks holds a master’s degree in education from Manhattanville College.

She is a first-grade teacher at St. Ignatius Loyola Grammar School and married Avery Brooks in July 2016.
