Jonah Tong, a Canadian professional baseball pitcher for the New York Mets, is in a romantic relationship with his longtime girlfriend, Cailey Davis.
Cailey is a student-athlete who plays women’s hockey for Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU).
The New York Mets selected Tong in the seventh round of the 2022 Major League Baseball draft.
He spent his first professional season with the Florida Complex League Mets and St. Lucie Mets. He began his 2024 season with the St. Lucie Mets but was promoted to the Brooklyn Cyclones.
Moreover, Tong started the 2025 season with the Binghamton Rumble Ponies, where he established himself as one of the top pitching prospects in baseball.
On August 26, the Mets announced that he’ll be promoted to the majors for the first time in his career and he’ll play against the Miami Marlins.
This is fast. There’s no question this is fast. He’s pushed us on this because of his performance. We think he’s ready for this. We also acknowledge that this has gone faster than any of us would have anticipated at the start of this year.

Jonah Tong and Cailee Davis’s Lasting Love Despite the Long Distance
Despite their busy lives and frequent travels, Jonah Tong and his girlfriend, Cailey Davis, have maintained a strong relationship for over six years.
On March 13, 2025, they celebrated their sixth anniversary.
Tong is often in the spotlight for baseball, but his personal life is usually private.
He rarely shares sweet posts about Davis for the world to see. On their fifth anniversary, he wrote a loving message on Instagram.
Happy 5-year anniversary, my love! Thank you for being all that you are and, most importantly, putting up with me for all of these years. To a lifetime of adventures and happy memories, I love you.

Tong’s posts show the importance of Davis in his life.
However, the biggest challenge in their relationship is distance. They hardly ever get to see each other due to their athletic career.
The New York Mets pitcher once uploaded a picture with the caption, “4th date in 4 years.“
They have a limited time together, which they spent enjoying simple dates, like taking a subway and seeing Central Park in New York City.
Jonah Tong and Cailey Davis have a strong relationship, and their bond is about the connection they share, even when they are apart.
Cailey Davis is a Bold Offensive Hockey Player for TMU
Cailey Davis has developed into a key offensive player for the Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) Bold women’s hockey team.
The Psychology major from Toronto joined TMU after playing for the Durham West Jr. Lightning of the Provincial Women’s Hockey League (PWHL).
Before PWHL, Davis served as an assistant captain for the Toronto Aeros Midget AA team.
She is a multi-sport athlete who also played lacrosse and was selected to play in the 2016 Ontario Summer Games.
As a TMU athlete, I am proud to promote diversity within sports. While February highlights Black History, my hope is that through education and awareness we can inspire the year-round celebration of diversity.
Cailey Davis
Her impact on the ice has grown each season.
After a solid rookie year in 2021-22, she became a regular fixture in the lineup, scoring her first OUA game-winning goal in 2022-23.
Her game took a significant leap in the 2023-24 season, where she finished fourth on the team in scoring. She played a dominant role during the 2024-25 season with an impressive 12 assists and 15 total points.
Nonetheless, Cailey Davis has proven to be an invaluable two-way forward for the TMU Bold.
