At the age of 31 in October 1991, Jorge served as an interim manager for hometown side Club Atlético Alumni. Another manager, Mario Bonavera, who stayed in, was out on a personal trip.

Overall, he was previously working as a fitness coach apart from being a protective or defensive midfielder in the season. Jorge was given the role of manager of the club’s youth setup in the coming year but only parted in 1993.
