Jorge Vilda Rodriguez has been serving as the head coach of the Spanish Women’s National Soccer Team since 2015.

The UEFA Pro Licence holder is also the sporting director of the Spanish FA’s women’s national team system and tactical instructor at their National Coaching School.

The former Real Madrid youth player previously managed Spain U-17 and U-19 women’s teams. However, he had begun as an assistant coach for the U-19 women’s soccer team.

Vilda’s U-17 coaching career is nothing short of impressive. During his tenure, Spain won gold (2010 & 2011), silver (2014), and bronze (2013) at UEFA Women’s U-17 EUROs in addition to silver (2014) and bronze (2010) at the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.

Jorge won the 2018 Cyprus Cup and also earned the manager for the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Vilda, however, remained in the controversy after a rift between him and the players emerged, with 15 of Spain’s top female players making themselves unavailable for the 2023 World Cup.

Is Jorge Vilda Married?

Yes, Jorge Vilda is married to his wife, María, with whom he share two children.

He has never disclosed his marriage openly to the public. Vilda is very discreet about his love life and maintains a highly professional public image.

Similarly, there haven’t been any reported sightings or online comments suggesting he has a love relationship.

But, some online sources suggest the 44-year-old soccer coach is enjoying his married life to wife María.

However, the speculations have never been confirmed. Jorge himself has not talked about his current or previous relationship status.

Moreover, the soccer manager is not available on social media platforms, making it further difficult for us to get some insights into his personal life.

More On His Parents

Jorge Vilda was born and raised by his Spanish parents in his hometown Madrid.

He still has good contact with his father, Angel Vilda, who initially served as a physical trainer for Johan Cruyff‘s coaching staff in Barcelona.

Moreover, Jorge’s father also worked as a manager for the under-19 Spanish women’s team. At the same time, Jorge was coaching the Under-17 team.

After his father, Angel, retired in 2014, he became head coach for the U-19 team.

Jorge’s mother, on the other hand, rarely makes headlines, and little is known about her.
