Juancho Hernangómez grew up alongside his older brother, Willy Hernangómez, who helped him progress and reach the height of basketball.
Since both brothers were competitive, they challenged each other and uplifted one another’s spirit.
Gradually, they became one of the most popular sibling duos in international basketball.
Juan Alberto “Juancho” Hernangómez Geuer is a Spanish professional basketball athlete who currently plays for Panathinaikos in the Greek Basket League and the EuroLeague.
He is also a key senior Spanish national basketball team member.
The Denver Nuggets drafted him as the 15th overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft.
He played for various teams, including the Nuggets, Minnesota Timberwolves, Boston Celtics, San Antonio Spurs, Utah Jazz, and Toronto Raptors.
Notably, Hernangómez played a crucial role in Spain’s victory at the 2022 EuroBasket tournament.
In addition to his basketball career, Hernangómez made his acting debut in the 2022 Netflix basketball film “Hustle,” where he shared the screen with Adam Sandler.

Guillermo Gustavo “Willy” Hernangómez Geuer is a professional Spanish basketball player who competes for FC Barcelona in the Spanish Liga ACB and the Euroleague.
He is 6 feet 11 inches tall and primarily plays the center position on the basketball court.
Willy’s NBA journey began when the Philadelphia 76ers drafted him as the 35th overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft.
However, he was quickly traded to the New York Knicks on the same draft night.
Before his NBA venture, Willy had honed his skills while representing Spain in youth national teams.
Notably, he secured a gold medal at the 2011 U-18 European Championships and later clinched silver alongside his brother at the 2014 U-20 tournament in Greece.
It’s worth mentioning that both brothers have transitioned from the NBA, and they will kick off the 2023-24 season playing in Europe.
Even though they aren’t in the NBA, they have left a remarkable legacy.
Parents And Childhood
The journey of the Hernangomez brothers to the NBA and their rise to basketball stardom didn’t follow the typical movie script.
Right from a young age, their exceptional basketball talent left no room for doubt that they would be discovered.
In the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup, the two siblings now stand as prominent figures representing Spain’s national team.
Born almost two years apart in Madrid, Willy and Juancho have a younger sister named Andrea, born in 2000, who is also involved in basketball and plays for Fairfield University.
This remarkable basketball lineage extends to their family roots.
Their father, Guillermo Hernangómez Heredero, carved his path in the sport by playing for Real Madrid Baloncesto and Club Baloncesto Estudiantes during his career.
On the other hand, their mother, Margarita Geuer Draeger, made her mark as an international basketball player who won the European championship with Spain in 1993.
