Julian Love Parents: Father Detraiter And Mother Ivonne Love

The Seattle Seahawks’s football safety Julian Love’s parents were the first ones to get him into football.

 His father, Detaiter, recognized Julian’s natural athletic abilities when he was just eight years old.

Over time, Julian’s interest in the sport grew, and now he is a football safety for the Seattle Seahawks in the NFL.

Growing up in Westchester, Illinois, Julian attended Nazareth Academy in La Grange Park, Illinois, where he excelled on both defense and offense.

The New York Giants drafted him in 2019 after he played football at the University of Notre Dame.

Love made an impact as a defensive player, earning multiple memorable interceptions. In March 2023, he signed a two-year, $12 million contract with the Seattle Seahawks.

In the 2023 season, Love continued to showcase his talent, notably intercepting a pass thrown by P.J. Walker in Week 8, helping the Seahawks win against the Cleveland Browns.

Julian Love comes from a family that has been heavily involved in various sports. His parents, Detraiter and Ivonne Love have raised three children, all of whom have shown exceptional athletic ability since a young age.

Julian’s older sister, Devinne, was the first in the family to pursue athletics at Nazareth Academy, where she began playing basketball.

Later their mother Ivonne introduced Julian to football. Initially, it was Devinne, at the age of 7, who joined a co-ed flag league to play alongside Julian, then aged 5, which sparked his interest in the sport.

In an interview, Ivonne mentioned that during Julian’s first year of playing football, her attention was mainly on Devinne, who was excelling in her games.

However, they soon discovered Julian’s natural aptitude for sports.

Detraiter, Julian’s father, has a basketball background. He played at Wentworth Military Academy and Junior College in Missouri before transitioning his career into the hospitality industry.

He has had an upward trajectory in this field, showcasing his skills and experience in roles ranging from an assistant front office director and event manager to becoming a hotel manager.

Julian Love’s Sister Devinne Love

The football safety has two siblings and both of them are athletic. oldest sister Devinne Love was the first in the family to venture into football, starting with flag football in Chicago’s Portage Park League.

Her involvement in the sport inspired her younger brother, Julian Love, who also played flag football at Portage Park from the ages of 6 to 9.

However, Devinne eventually decided to pursue a different career path and is currently a Key Account Manager at Meeting Tomorrow.

She graduated from Nazareth in 2014 and completed her Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations at Marquette University. She also earned a Master of Science in Global Strategic Communication.

Devinne is now married and prefers to keep her personal life private.

Julian’s younger brother, Michael Love, is also a football player. Michael was born on June 5, 2001, and is three years younger than Julian.

Like his older brother and sister, Michael also had a passion for football from a young age.

While attending Nazareth Academy, he was an exceptional athlete and was chosen as team captain in both his junior and senior years.

He even earned the 2018 Suburban Life Player of the Year award.
