The American Olympian, Katie Moon, tied the knot with her husband, Hugo Moon, on new year’s Eve in 2022. The two started getting along through a dating app in 2018.

However, pole vaulter Katie and her husband, Hugo Moon, do not have any children together.

Moreover, the couple is often seen together on vacation, as they recently enjoyed their honeymoon in the Maldives.

Born on June 13, 1991, in Lakewood, Ohio, Katie Moon was a diver at Olmsted Falls High School at an early age.

However, she later found her passion in pole vaulting and turned pro in 2013.

Similarly, Moon was the 2008 Division 1 state runner and the 2009 Division 1 state champion.

The American professional athlete is the 2020 Tokyo Olympics gold medalist and the 2022 World Athletics Championship winner.

Moreover, the 2018 North American Central American and Caribbean Championship gold medalist represented the United States in the 18th World Athletics Indoor Championship in 2022 and won silver.

Besides, the professional pole vaulter has had a sponsorship deal with Nike since 2018.

Katie Moon Husband: Hugo Moon

Katie Moon’s husband, Hugo Moon, has been the assistant coach and Recruiting Coordinator at the University of Tulsa since October 2022.

Hugo attended high school in Bedford School from 2000 to 2011, where he got involved in activities like rowing and hockey.

Later, Mr. Moon graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy and Religious Studies from the University of Birmingham in 2015.

Moreover, he completed his Master’s degree in Sports and Fitness Administration from Washington State University. Hugo has a Hockey Coaching Level 1 and Rowing Coaching Level 2 license.

Moon’s professional coaching experience began as a Senior Women’s Rowing Head Coach at the University of Warwick, where he served for 11 months.

After working as a graduate assistant at Canford School in the United Kingdom for a year in 2016, Hugo moved to Washington State University as the Club Women’s Rowing Head Coach.

The Olympian’s husband also worked as Head Coach and Rowing Director at Gainesville Area Rowing Inc. from 2019 to 2022.

Married Life & Kids

Katie Moon and her husband Hugo met through a dating app, Tinder, while living in Pullman, Washington, in 2018. 

During that time, Katie was preparing for the pole vault competition at Washington State University, and Hugo was pursuing his master’s degree while still coaching the club rowing team.

After 3 years of getting to know each other, the couple got engaged in November 2021 in Cleveland, Ohio.

“This year will be VERY hard to beat. I love you the most Hugo Moon, and I can’t wait to be your stage 5 clinger for the rest of our lives.” Katie wrote on her Instagram, flexing her engagement ring.

Later, on December 31, New Year’s Eve, the lovebirds exchanged their wedding ring at the Double Tree by Hilton.

The track and field athlete with her husband, Hugo, celebrated their honeymoon in Velassaru, Maldives.

As of now, the couple does not have any kids together. However, they have an adorable pet pup.
