Ke’Ajia Williams death came as a shock to many of her relatives and friends. The former Troy University basketball player died on December 13, at age 21.
The 6’2 forward, Ke’Ajia Williams, was a junior at St. Thomas University and in the past season, had averaged 11.2 points, 1.3 assists, and 7.7 rebounds.
After the news of her passing broke out, Troy University released a statement and has moved their Sun Belt Conference opener against Georgia State from Saturday to Sunday at Trojan Arena.
Williams family haven’t shared the cause of her death though many have speculated that the youngster was going through mental health struggles.
The Williams family has organized a viewing for Ke’Ajia on December 29, Friday at Peach Mortuary. The funeral will be held a day later at People’s Baptist Church.

Ke’Ajia Williams’ death has shocked the entire basketball community. A girl who was said to be full of life, Ke’Ajia, passed away unexpectedly on December 13.
She was the daughter of Tamia Green and Frederick Williams and had two sisters and a brother. Her mother, Tamia Green, has shared several posts on her Facebook handle to mourn the loss of her daughter.
Five days after Ke’Ajia’s passing, Tamia shared a gallery of images of her daughter. She shared childhood pictures and pictures of Ke’Ajia in action for Troy University.
The next day, she shared clips of Ke’Ajia starring for her team. She captioned the post, “My 21. These memories and the love and support are what keep me stable. Your no.1 Fan.”
Another tribute post included Ke’Ajia graduating from high school and pictures of her daughter playing for the Bucs and Troy. She also shared the snap of Ke’Ajia having a fun time with the fans at the basketball court.
Her siblings Queenie Drica Green, Yanna Green, and Li Freddo have shared several tribute posts for their lovely sister. The Williams even created pins for remembrance of Ke’Ajia.
Ke’Ajia Williams Death Cause
The Williams family hasn’t stated what caused the death of the young Ke’Ajia. However, a few sites have speculated that Ke’Ajia could have been suffering from mental health issues.
Ke’Ajia was active on TikTok and shared a video a day before her demise. In the video, Ke’Ajia can be seen lipsyncing to a song and feeling herself.
One of her TikTok videos also hints that Ke’Ajia was dating as she titled the video, “Taking your man hoodies and basically living in his body now.”
Ke’Ajia’s TikTok videos make us think that the athlete was enjoying her life, but the reality might have been quite different. Her death is another reason why we shouldn’t judge someone based on their social media presence. Things could be completely different in reality.
Troy University Mourns Ke’Ajia
Since, Ke’Ajia’s passing on December 13, several relatives and friends have taken to their social media handles to mourn the loss of the talented athlete.
A close friend of the Williams family, ES Jones, shared a video that showed many close friends of Ke’Ajia carrying pink and white balloons and lighting up candles in front of her photo.
They let the balloons fly high and shouted, “Big 21,” Ke’Ajia’s jersey number. Troy University put out a statement on December 27.
They gave their thoughts and prayers to Ke’Ajia, and her family and wrote, “You are forever a Trojan, and we will miss you always.”
