Keaton Miller, a junior student and wrestler at Lee’s Summit West High School, passed away after battling cancer for a year, leaving his parents heartbroken.
During the wrestling season in early 2024, Miller noticed something was wrong. He felt unwell and noticed that his body wasn’t recovering as usual.
After multiple doctor visits and tests, his condition was confirmed within hours, and he began chemotherapy almost immediately.
Regarding the devastating reality of leukemia treatment, Dave, Keaton’s father, said:
Within in an hour they had drawn labs, within three hours he was diagnosed with leukemia, and within 24 hours received his first round of chemo, it’s heartbreaking. You almost have to kill the body to save the body.
In memory of Keaton Miller. A courageous warrior. The Titans have lost a Son, a teammate, a friend, a competitor. God relieved Keaton from his earthly battle to fight along side him in heaven. We will miss you and find motivation and courage in your memories. ❤️💪💪💪 pic.twitter.com/bwKcZJjJRA

Earlier in the year, Keaton had undergone a bone marrow transplant and was recovering, but his condition worsened, leading to his admission to intensive care.
His school and community rallied around him, holding fundraisers and prayer walks in his honor.
Miller had paused his wrestling career to focus on treatment. His biggest motivation was to return to wrestling, and he remained hopeful about getting back on the mat once he was in remission.
But he never got the chance to step back onto the mat.
Sadly, he passed away on May 12, 2025, after a year-long battle with B-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.
Keaton Miller’s Parents Were By His Side Throughout His Challenging Time!
Keaton Miller was born on November 26, 2007, to parents Dave and Elizabeth Miller.
They stood by him throughout his battle with Leukemia and supported him through treatments and hospital stays.
His mother, Elizabeth, was especially involved in his care, taking him to multiple doctor visits before his diagnosis and staying by his side during chemotherapy.
On the other hand, Keaton Miller’s sister, Kirah Dunham, 25, stood by his side throughout his battle.
Dave, their father, deeply appreciated her dedication and care for her brother, saying:
you showed the world a level of selflessness beyond words. By donating your stem cells to save your brother’s life in his battle against leukemia, you became his hero and ours…
The Miller family received overwhelming support from their community, with fundraisers and donations organized to help them through the difficult journey.
Correspondingly, Dave shared the funeral arrangements with deep gratitude and a heavy heart.
As per him, the funeral service will be held on Friday, May 16, at 10:00 AM at Abundant Life Sanctuary.
He invites loved ones to come together to remember Keaton’s life and the impact he had on those around him.
Following the service, a burial and luncheon will be hosted at the church.
