Kendrick Perkins was ejected from AAU games in Las Vegas over the weekend.
During a recent appearance on ‘NBA Today,’ former NBA player Perkins discussed his recent ejection during a coaching stint.
Perkins, who has been coaching for three years, expressed his frustration at the incident.
He stated that he had never been ejected from a game during his coaching career until this particular incident.
The trigger for his ejection was his attempt to ask the referee a question regarding the ejection of one of his players.
However, the referee refused to engage with him, which fueled Perkins’ anger.
Recounting the situation, Perkins explained that he was so incensed that he “blew off the gasket.”
He became visibly agitated and called for the tournament director. He was determined not to be kicked out of the game, and despite causing a temporary halt in play, he refused to leave the gym.
Perkins argued that he had invested a considerable amount of money to come to the tournament in Vegas, and he was not willing to walk away.
Eventually, the tournament director intervened and requested that Perkins stand on the sideline without finishing the game.
