Kenny Bednarek is an American track and field sprinter who specializes in the 200-meter distance.

He started to run youth track in second grade, won seven individual state titles, and led his high school team to a 4X400 relay championship.

Growing up, he also played football as a wide receiver and kick returner during his junior and senior years at Rice Lake.

Following high school, he enrolled at Indian Hills Community College as he did not qualify academically for a major four-year university.

He started his professional career in 2019, signing a contract with Nike, and began training with former world champion sprinter and Olympic medalist Justin Gatlin.

Moreover, representing the U.S. national team, he has won a silver at the 2020 Olympic Games and another silver at the 2022 World Championships.

Recently, the sprinter attended the men’s 200-meter race during the World Athletics Championships in Budapest, Hungary, and secured the 5th position.

Parents: Adopted By Mother Mary Bednarek

Kenny Bednarek was raised by a single mother, Mary Ann Bednarek. However, Mary is his adoptive parent, as Kenny and his twin brother were adopted at the age of 4.

Unfortunately, there is no information about his biological parents, and the Bednarek siblings never mention them.

Growing up, Mary never thought that her son would be where he is today and described him as a very uncoordinated child.

“He was very uncoordinated as a youngster I would have never ever imagined he’d be where he is now when he was four and five years old. I was like boy he’s clumsy,” Mary Ann said.

“When you would see him on the track you could see that was where he was happiest … When he was little, I called him my Secretariat. I remember watching Secretariat win by 32 lengths himself and that was Kenny!”

Moreover, Kenny’s brother, Ian, also participated in track and field during his collegiate years.

Kenny Bednarek Girlfriend Is A Professional Golfer
