All About Kenny Clark’s Father

NFL player Kenny Clark was born to his parents, Kenny Clark Sr. and Nicole Clark. He has three siblings; Kennia and Kennise (twin sisters) and a younger brother named Kyon.

When Clark was nine years old, his father was detained in California after being found guilty of second-degree murder.

Kenny Jr. was too young to understand what had happened, but he was aware of his anger.

All he knew was that his father had left the house and that his mother insisted on taking the family for five hours on weekends to Calipatria State Prison. In this maximum-security prison, Kenny Sr. had begun serving his term.

Kenny Sr. has established a life for himself in his current Level 2 prison. He has a diploma, a few jobs, and even enjoys cooking. He prepares chicken or beef burritos for himself and other prisoners after his family deposits money into his account.

Kenny Sr. has exercised a lot during the past five months. And because the Packers are on primetime so frequently, he has been able to observe his son’s rapid ascent.

How Kenny Clark’s Father Ended Up In Prison

Kenny Clark Sr. has spent the last 15 years in prison serving his time for the crime of second-degree murder of Misael Rosales.

He was found guilty of the second-degree murder of Misael Rosales in San Bernardino, California, in 2005. Rosales had been shot when scores of people lounged about outside a convenience store and a motorcycle club.

Despite not having witnessed the killing, a witness testified to police and ultimately a jury that he had seen Clark Sr. waving a gun around just before Rosales was shot.

The jury sentenced him to 55 years of imprisonment without the possibility of parole. But a year later, following a witness’s partial recantation of his testimony, Clark Sr. insisted on his innocence.

This launched him and his family out on a decade-long appeals journey. But in 2017, he lost his chance to be released from prison.

Kenny Clark Sr. Introduced His Son To Football

Kenny had been exposed to football by his father. Even while incarcerated, Kenny Sr. kept in touch with his son via phone, calling before games to give advice, after games to get detailed reports, and even during games to get real-time updates from his wife.

Due to their love of football, two coaches from UCLA visited Kenny Sr. in jail during the recruitment process.

On one particular day when Kenny Jr. was on the court, he dreamed of being present with his father for the milestone events that were upcoming in his life, including the NFL combine, UCLA’s pro day, and his draft day.

One of the earliest recollections of Kenny Jr. is sitting with his father and watching the Ravens destroy the Giants in Super Bowl XXXV.

Although the father and son became friends over football and shared characteristics, it was obvious that Kenny Sr. had flaws.

He Supported Kenny Even When He Was In Prison

Kenny Sr. saw his son while UCLA was on one of the broadcast networks because of good behavior earning him access to television.

At 90,000 red-clad spectators at Nebraska’s Memorial Stadium, Kenny Sr. had not seen his son play since he was seven years old, and he wasn’t ready for the passion that came with it.

In his 6-by-9-foot cage by himself, Kenny Sr. started to sob. He admitted it was inappropriate, but he was powerless to stop himself.

Four to five times a week, Kenny Sr. and Kenny Jr. chatted on the phone and established a rhythm on game days. To wish him luck, he would try to phone his son three to four hours before kickoff and again an hour afterward.

Wife | Nicole Clark

Nicole has always been a very supportive wife to her husband and a loving mother to Kenny.

She worked long shifts as a nurse during the day, leaving Kenny Sr. to care for their children. He made it a point to share his love of football with others.

Nicole and Kenny Sr. did not have their fathers around for many of their childhoods, unlike their son.

By 16, Nicole was living alone, but she avoided the pitfalls of the challenging setting. But Kenny didn’t.

In 1990, when he was 20 years old, he was found guilty of robbery and selling drugs.

Kenny Clark’s Father Was Not Much Around During His Childhood

Even after getting married to Nicole, establishing a family, and relocating to San Bernardino’s north side, Kenny Sr. continued to have drug and alcohol issues and was unfaithful to Nicole. He would occasionally disappear for days.

His relationship with his little kid persisted, nevertheless. During the day, Kenny Sr. operated a tow truck, and Kenny Jr. accompanied him on calls. But football was the most important thing.
