Kasandra Lowe took to her Facebook page to pour out her heart about how her son, Thomas, with special needs, was humiliated by his coach.
She wrote a lengthy emotional post explaining how tough the day had been for their whole family.
Kasandra revealed that as a mother, it was really difficult for her to sit there and watch her boy’s spirit getting completely broken by someone who is supposed to be lifting kids up and helping them grow.
She said that someone was his coach and called him heartless.
Kasandra said Thomas is a child who has already faced so many hard things in his young life because he has special needs, but he never lets that stop him from pushing forward.
In fact, he works harder than just about any kid out there, always giving everything he’s got, even when things are extra difficult for him physically.
According to what Kasandra shared, this coach did something that made Thomas feel so humiliated in front of a crowd during practice or a match that her son is now ready to walk away from his dream of wrestling.
She said it crushed him to the point where he feels like he can’t keep going anymore.
Kasandra described driving home with tears running down her face while listening to her upset boy talk about how much it hurt.
She called the coach heartless for treating a child with disabilities that way, especially one who shows more heart, drive, and determination than most people ever will.

“My boy has more drive and determination and heart that so called coach ever will,” she wrote.
Thomas, from everything his mom says, never asks for anyone to go easy on him. He doesn’t want special treatment.
Whether it’s during workouts, practice, or actual wrestling, he tries with all he’s got, even if he struggles more than the other kids.
She said he can handle losing, and he knows he’s different, but he doesn’t deserve to be put down and embarrassed publicly like that.
Kasandra made it clear that seeing her son treated so poorly in front of everyone broke her heart and made her furious.
She went on to say she’s not the type of person who looks for trouble or likes drama, but when someone comes after her kids, especially in a mean and unfair way, she can’t just stay quiet.
Kasandra wrote:
I will not be quiet and I will not be unheard. This is my child and as a parent it’s my job to stand up for his rights, disabled or not.

She believes he can do anything he sets his mind to, and he’s already shown that over and over again through all the obstacles he’s overcome.
In no time, other parents supported her in the comments. Linda Fletcher wrote:
This upsets me so bad cause regardless of his disability he tries and all it takes is one bad coach to completely break a kid I too dealt with it and I didn’t allow it either you build your kids up don’t tear them down that’s all it takes u tell Thomas don’t let one person be the reason he gives up something that he loves!

Likewise, Gail Smith wrote, “Tell him not to give up use his frustration to only work harder don’t give up something up that you love love you Thomas you can do this.”
