Rankine is considered to be one of the brightest young talents in the AFL, and his skill and potential have earned him comparisons to some of the game’s greatest players.

He began his football career at the young age of 16, playing for the West Adelaide Football Club in the South Australian National Football League (SANFL) and kicking two goals on debut.

Rankine participated in a variety of sports as a youth, such as a basketball, rugby, and tennis, but ultimately decided to concentrate on Australian rules football.

Izak Rankine Parents

Izak Rankine was born to his mother, Kerry, and father, Ronald Rankine, in an Australian-Indigenous family in Adelaide.

Rankine had a difficult upbringing that includes the separation of his parents, Ronald and Kerry.

His relationship with his father is complicated, and there were periods before he was drafted when he bounced between living at home or with his older brother Matt, one of six siblings.

Izak conducted some pre-draft interviews with his dad and others on his own. He spoke about the support he has received from his family throughout his football career.

His mother, Kerry, played netball, and his six siblings tried everything from rugby to tennis.

But given that his father, Ronald Sr., had won Rosewater’s Best and Fairest Award, football is a family tradition.

Brothers Ronald Jr. lines up for Modbury, Kobe is at Flinders Park, and Matthew, a former under-18 representative, is with South Adelaide.

Izak claims that Kobe has probably been the biggest assistance, giving him someone to practice against one-on-one to help him improve and that Matty encourages him to keep doing what he’s doing.

Much more details about Izak Rankine’s parents are not publicly available, it is clear that family and cultural background have been important influences in his life and football career.
