In a piece of sad news, his father Larry passed away in Canada recently.
Larry played in the Western Hockey League, donning his hometown jersey in Saskatchewan, Saskatoon Blades.
Kevin Korchinski was born on June 21, 2004, in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada.
He started hockey early due to his father’s Western Hockey League connections.
In 2022, he was signed up by the notable NHL franchise Chicago Blackhawks in an entry-level deal.
He also featured for the Seattle Thunderbirds in the 2022-23 WHL season, where he was named in the Canadian Hockey League’s third all-star team.

Larry Korchinski’s Death
In a disheartening update, Kevin’s father, Larry, died in December 2023.
The entire NHL and the sporting world came in support of young Kevin in this tough moment. The Chicago Blackhawks routed the team’s chartered jet to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan to attend the funeral of Larry.
Kevin was given a leave from the Blackhawks’ training camp to deal with the family matter.
“It was a sad day for everybody involved, but I thought it was really great that the schedule permitted us to be there to support Kevin and his family,” coach Luke Richardson said on Saturday.
