He was called a freshman All-American by Louisville Slugger.

After his freshman season at Purdue, Plawecki played university summer baseball for the Richmond RiverRats of the Prospect League.

In the spring of 2015, Plawecki joined the New York Mets.

The New York Mets nominated Plawecki in the primary round. He was the 35th general election in the 2012 Major League Baseball draft (MLB).

He gamed for the Savannah Sand Gnats of the Class-A South Atlantic League In 2013.

Kevin was endorsed to the St. Lucie Mets of the Class A-Advanced Florida State League.

He was also promoted to the Binghamton Mets of the Class AA Eastern League the Eastern League contests.

The Mets requested Plawecki to attend spring training.
