The Rossville, Indiana, community is mourning the untimely death of beloved native and standout athlete, Megan Hufford.
Megan Hufford suffered a fatal car accident earlier this week, sustaining severe injuries.
She was hospitalized for several days before succumbing to her injuries on December 10, 2025. Megan Hufford was 18.
Born on February 21, 2007, to parents Randy and Kathy (Shuman) Hufford, Megan Hufford touched the lives of many with his amazing athletic skills and her immense love for animals.
A proud graduate of Kokomo Home School, Megan played varsity basketball throughout her high school career, wearing jersey #34 in her senior year and leading his team in several victories.
Standing 5’8” tall and wearing #42 and #43 in her earlier seasons, Megan was admired for her dedication, determination, and sportsmanship both on and off the court.
After graduation, Megan Hufford began working in the dog training and animal care field and was one of the leaders of World of Life Teens, a religious organization.
She was also a faithful member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church and was planning a mission trip for next year to serve at an orphanage and help people in need.
Additionally, Megan was an avid hunter and spent most of her time in her tree stand during deer season.
As a selfless and kind person, Megan Hufford decided to be an organ donor before her untimely passing.
Megan Hufford’s kind nature and her contribution to the Rossville community as an avid athlete will always be remembered.
Many of her loved ones are paying tribute to the late Megan Hufford and extending their heartfelt condolences to her family during this difficult time.

Megan Hufford leaves behind her beloved father, Randy Hufford, and her stepmother, Jerusha, her siblings, Katelyn (Steven) Thompson, Ashley (Loren) Rinehart, and Justin Hufford, her dog Bandit, and the entire family.
She was preceded in death by her loving mother, Kathleen “Kathy” Hufford.
Her mother, Kathy, passed away on June 30, 2017, at IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette after a fatal automobile accident. Kathy was 46 years old.
Kathy was a homeschool instructor and member of First Baptist Church of Delphi, and she loved her family the most.
Furthermore, Megan Hufford’s family has organized a memorial service for her on December 12, 2025, from 2-5 PM and 6-8 PM at Rossville Presbyterian Church.
Funeral service will be at 10 AM, Saturday, December 13, 2025, at the church.
Burial will follow at Rossville Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest next to her mother, Kathy.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Megan’s honor to the facility where she was going to serve on her mission trip this upcoming February, The Pines Christian Care Center, 125 Vlakplas, Welkom Mines, Welkom, 9460, South Africa.
