Early Life, Family & Education

The powerful phenomenon was born in Scarborough, Ontario, to parents Joseph Alexander and Audrey Alexander on October 21, 1996.

Kyle grew up in Milton and Orangeville despite being born in Scarborough because of his high school.

His father, Joseph, was a basketball player at Niagara, which influenced Alexander’s decision to pursue basketball as a career.

In addition, he has two older sisters, Kayla and Kesia. Kayla is a professional basketball player with the Tango Bourges Basket of Ligue Féminine de Basketball. 

Including that, she was a two-time first-team All-Big East standout at Syracuse and was the school’s all-time best scorer and shot blocker.

Likewise, Kesia is a graduate student at Ottawa University, where she studied political science and communication.

He was also a hockey player when he was younger. Larry Blunt was Alexander’s coach during his time at Orangeville Prep.

College Career

Kyle chose to attend the University of Tennessee-Knoxville to finish his college degree.

He spent four years in Tennessee and played basketball with dedication and hard work to prepare himself for his basketball career.

As a result, Alexander was named to the SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll in 2015-16 and played 32 games for the college team during his freshman year.

Alexander began his sophomore season with a career-high seven points, eight rebounds, four blocks, and a steal against Chattanooga, earning him a starting spot.

Kyle grabbed a game-high nine rebounds in only 18 minutes of action in a home win against Kansas State in 2017.  

Similarly, during Tennessee’s three-game European exhibition trip, he was the team’s second-leading rebounder, grabbing 9.0 rebounds per game.

During the 2017-18 season, Alexander finished his bachelor’s degree requirements. He was also sixth in the SEC with 2.50 offensive rebounds and ninth with 1.68 blocks per game.

In addition, his .679 shooting percentage placed 18th in Division I among players who attempted at least two field goals each game.

Furthermore, during his senior year, he notched 7.3 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 23.8 minutes in each game and assisted the team to Sweet Sixteen. 

Professional Career

Miami Heat

Kyle started his NBA Career with Miami Heats. He joined the team for the 2019 NBA Summer League after being undrafted in the 2019 NBA draft.

On July 15, 2019, he signed a contract for the training camp with the Heats. After his training camp, Kyle became the roster of the Heat’s NBA G League affiliate of Sioux Falls Skyforce.

Similarly, Alexander was a Miami Heat member in Salt Lake City and Las Vegas at the 2019 NBA Summer League.

He signed a two-way contract with Heats on January 15, 2020, but the next day, he was out because of his knee injury. 

A month later, he returned to NBA and debuted on August 6, 2020. He played against Milwaukee Bucks in one minute off the bench and recorded one rebound in a 130-116 loss.

Even though Miami Heat made it to the 2020 NBA Finals, the team lost in 6 games to Los Angeles Lakers.

Fuenlabrada & Valencia

For the 2020-21 campaign, Kyle made a contract with Fuenlabrada on December 2, 2020, which is a Spanish Liga ACB team.

During his time with the Fuenlabrada, he scores 9 points and 6.2 rebounds per game.

Alexander resigned from the Fuenlabrada on August 23, 2021, playing incredibly with his team.

After that, on May 16, 2022, he signed with the Scarborough Shooting Stars of the CEBL and with Valencia of the Spanish Liga ACB on July 22, 2022.
