Markus Mueller was Killed in a Love and Steroid Feud
In 1995, the life of 29-year-old LA-based bodybuilder Markus Mueller ended violently outside his Bonita Springs, Florida home.
His murderer, David Snipes, unraveled a dark story of jealousy, illegal business, and a shocking international manhunt.

Mueller’s world involved dealing steroids with a man named David Bieber.
Personal rivalry tainted their relationship because they were both seeing the same lady, Danielle Labelle.
Initially, Mueller’s girlfriend, Labelle, began an affair with Bieber, whom she later married. Yet, she continued seeing Mueller secretly.
Days after his marriage, Bieber plotted to eliminate his rival. He hired a 17-year-old, David Snipes, paying him $1,000 to kill Mueller.
On February 9, 1995, Snipes approached Mueller at his doorstep and shot him three times.

Snipes eventually confessed and received a life sentence.
On the other hand, Bieber knew he was a suspect and stole the identity of a deceased child, Nathan Wayne Coleman. He fled overseas to England, where he built a new life as a nightclub bouncer, married to Denise Horsley, and continued selling steroids.
However, his run ended on December 26, 2003, in Leeds, England. He was pulled over in a stolen car and opened fire on three police officers, wounding two and executing the third, 34-year-old Officer Ian Broadhurst.
Afterwards, he was captured days later. He was convicted and given three life sentences for the murder of Officer Broadhurst and attempted murders.
Furthermore, he attacked a female prison guard, Alison Smith, at HMP Long Lartin prison with a homemade weapon fashioned from an iron bar in 2017.
Bieber was given an additional life sentence at Worcester Crown Court.
