La Vega Junior High is facing serious backlash after allegations surfaced that Coach Chalmer Adams physically assaulted multiple students, leaving visible marks.

Concerned parent Anne Leslie reported that the school district, La Vega ISD, had been previously warned about Adams’ alleged behavior but failed to take action to protect students.

According to Leslie, her child was the latest victim of the coach’s reported aggression.

“This is to inform you of a serious incident involving Coach Chalmer Adams at La Vega Junior High,” Leslie wrote in a statement.

“I have learned that La Vega ISD was previously informed of allegations of Coach Adams physically abusing other children, but failed to take appropriate action. Sadly, my child has now been physically assaulted by Coach Adams, resulting in visible marks. I intend to press charges and am very dissatisfied with the situation.”

Leslie stated that she immediately sought help from law enforcement, contacting multiple agencies in an effort to ensure accountability.

“I’ve called the sheriff’s. I’ve gone to the Bellmead Police Department. They say that they can’t do anything because La Vega ISD has their own police department,” she said.

“So I’m going to the La Vega Police Department in the morning since we couldn’t get a hold of them. We called at 4:20 and kept calling, but the administration, the school, and the police department could not be reached. So we’re going up there.”

Leslie also revealed that she had contacted a lawyer and planned to report the incident to Child Protective Services (CPS), emphasizing that other children may have also been victims of Adams’ alleged assaults.

Community members quickly voiced their outrage on social media.

One commenter, Linda Templin Harris, expressed frustration with the lack of accountability, stating,

“Hell no this is not right. If the authorities won’t do anything maybe the parents should.”

Another commenter, Keith Morris, wrote,

“Should lose his job — ain’t no one should be grabbing anyone’s kids in any way.”

As the allegations continue to circulate online, parents and residents are demanding that La Vega ISD conduct a full investigation and ensure the safety of its students.

Many are calling for Adams to be placed on administrative leave pending further inquiry.

At the time of this report, La Vega ISD has not released an official statement addressing the allegations or confirming whether disciplinary action has been taken against Coach Adams.

The incident has left parents deeply concerned about student safety and the district’s response to prior warnings.

For families like Leslie’s, the situation represents not only a breach of trust but also a painful reminder of the consequences of institutional inaction.
