Ladysmith High School teacher and coach Jacques Pretorius reportedly died due to a heart attack.
According to Jacques Pretorius’s official Facebook page, he resided in Ladysmith, KwaZulu-Natal, and attended Ladysmith High School.
Later, he studied Math and Science at Dokkies and graduated from the Durban College of Education.
At Ladysmith High School, Jacques taught physical science and also served as a coach for sports.
Sports Coach Jacques Pretorius Passed Away At The Age Of 56
Born on July 29, 1969, Jacques Pretorius took his last breath on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at 56.
As per the reports, Jacques suffered a heart attack and died despite the best efforts of paramedics.
Ladysmith High School Deputy Principal Mr. Maitland officially announced Jacques’s death and mourned the tragic loss. He said,
“It is with great sadness that I must inform you of the sudden passing of one of our educators, Mr Jacques Pretorius. Mr Pretorius was a senior Physical Science teacher and a beloved sports coach. “The entire Ladysmith High School family mourns his loss and I ask that you keep the Pretorius family in your thoughts and prayers.”

He also announced that the school will remain closed on Monday, June 23, 2025, to honor Jacques.
Moreover, the exams for all grades that were scheduled for Monday will now be administered on Friday, June 27, 2025.
