Cason Chilton, a talented and beloved Junior Baseball player in the Lancaster County Little League, passed away in a hunting accident on May 17, 2025, in Lancaster County, Virginia.
The accident occurred around 5:45 PM when he unloaded a four-wheeler on the last day of turkey season.
Authorities responded to a report of a self-inflicted hunting accident at Russell Lane near Litwalton.
Deputies provided first aid until emergency services arrived, and then Cason was airlifted to VCU in Richmond.
But during transport, the LifeEvac team diverted to RGH in Kilmarnock, where he sadly succumbed to his injuries.
Despite being airlifted for medical attention, he did not survive.
