As the new year kicks off in Redmond, Washington, young baseball players and their families are gearing up for an action-packed spring season with Redmond North Little League (RNLL).

The league has sent out an urgent reminder: registration for the drafted Upper Division Baseball programs, AAA, Coast, and Majors, closes this Sunday, January 18.

Once the deadline passes, spots in these competitive divisions are locked in, and no late registrations will be accepted for the player draft.

Redmond North Little League, a beloved community organization serving youth ages 4–16, plays its games primarily on the well-maintained synthetic turf fields at Redmond Ridge Park (located at 22915 NE Alder Crest Dr.).

These all-weather diamonds, including the Jackson Roos Memorial Field, provide excellent playing conditions year-round, rain or shine.

The league also utilizes the indoor batting facility at Redmond Ridge for year-round training, helping players hone their skills even during the Pacific Northwest’s unpredictable weather.

For players typically aged 9–12 (based on Little League age guidelines), the Upper Division offers a step up in excitement and challenge,

AAA focuses on building strong fundamentals with reduced-impact (RIF) baseballs, player pitching, and an instructional yet inclusive environment — perfect for 9-year-olds (and select 8- and 10-year-olds) transitioning to more competitive play.

Coast targets 10- and 11-year-olds, featuring regulation baseballs, base stealing, full scoring, and around 18–20 games per season.

Majors brings the full Little League experience on larger fields, with traditional rules, player pitching, and the potential for postseason All-Star tournaments.

These divisions culminate in the exciting Redmond Championship Tournament (RCT), a double-elimination bracket where top teams from Majors, Coast, and AAA compete for the league title and a shot at advancing to the Jackson Roos Regional Tournament.

If your player is ready to join the draft and compete at this level, head to the official registration page at redmondbaseball.org right away.

The fun ramps up quickly after registration closes. Player Preview Day (also called Evaluation Day) is set for Saturday, January 24, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Redmond Ridge Batting Facility (with outdoor fields if weather permits).

Players will show their batting, fielding, pitching, and speed skills while coaches assess talent to form balanced teams. Assigned time slots and full details will arrive via email soon.

For families with younger players, there’s more breathing room: registration for the instructional divisions (T-Ball, A, AA, and Big Diamond) remains open until February 27, allowing plenty of time to get started in a fun, developmental environment.

Redmond North Little League is powered by passionate volunteers, dedicated coaches, and a strong community spirit.

It’s more than just baseball, it’s about fostering confidence, sportsmanship, and lifelong friendships on the field.

So dust off that glove, grab your bat, and register today for North Little League Upper Division Baseball before the January 18 cutoff.
