David Greenwood, a former NBA star and National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Famer, passed away on June 8, 2025, leaving his family and loved ones devastated.

According to reports, the former UCLA star David Greenwood passed away on Sunday, in Riverside, California, at the untimely age of 68 after a long battle with cancer.

Furthermore, the sudden loss of the former NBA champion has left a profound void in the lives of his family, friends, and loved ones.

Many of his loved ones are paying tribute to the late David Greenwood and extending their heartfelt condolences to his wife, kids, and siblings.

David Greenwood leaves behind his former wife, Joyce Duckworth Greenwood; his son, Ajhanti Jamil; his daughter, Tiffany; his brother, Alden ‘Al’; his sister; and the entire family.

The former NBA star David Greenwood and his former wife Joyce Duckworth Greenwood were married for decades before they mutually decided to separate.

Despite their divorce, David Greenwood and Joyce Duckworth raised both of their kids, Jamil and Tiffany, to succeed in their respective careers.

Furthermore, their son, Ajhanti Jamil Greenwood, followed in his father, David’s, footsteps in sports for a while and played varsity basketball at Don Lugo High School in Chino, California. He graduated in 2006.

Jamil’s Facebook post displays that he is also a musician and loves playing the trumpet; however, little is known about his current profession.

Joyce Greenwood, former wife of the late David Greenwood, was born to the late Annie Meyers and Samuel Duckworth Sr.

She has thrived in a successful career as a real estate consultant for almost three decades.

Joyce Greenwood began her real estate journey with First Team Real Estate Company in California in 1997 and has since been working as a consultant for the company for over 28 years.

Alongside First Team Real Estate, Joyce also works as a real estate consultant for RE/Max Champions in Ontario, California. She joined the company in March 2023.

Prior to her real estate career, Joyce served as the co-owner of DKG Enterprises for seven years, where she trained and managed two stores and over 30 employees.

Furthermore, Joyce Greenwood is an alumna of the University of Phoenix, from which she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration in 1996.

She also earned her Associate of Arts degree from City Colleges of Chicago-Richard J Daley College in 1978.
