Leah Brundidge, Ph.D., dedicated her life to leadership, education, and excellence—both on and off the field.
A proud graduate of Troy University, Brundidge earned her Bachelor’s degree in Sport and Fitness Management while making her mark as a standout athlete on the Troy softball team.
As a senior, she carried an impressive .333 batting average and competed in 108 games, cementing her legacy as a true competitor.
Her passion for sports extended beyond her playing days. Leah earned her MBA and later completed a Ph.D. in Sport Management from Troy University.
Her dissertation, “An Illustration of Hope: A Look into the Work Experiences for Black Women in Division I Athletic Administration,” reflected her commitment to advancing equity in athletics.
Brundidge built an accomplished career in athletic compliance, holding roles at Troy University and the University of Southern Mississippi, where she served as Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance.
In 2024, she transitioned into corporate leadership as a Senior Field Sales Development Representative with Boehringer Ingelheim in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, showcasing her ability to lead across industries.
Leah Brundidge’s Death At 31 Stuns Community
The Troy community and beyond are mourning the untimely loss of Leah Brundidge, who passed away on June 25 at the age of 31.
Her death leaves a deep void in the lives of her family, friends, colleagues, and countless individuals she inspired.
Leah was the daughter of Troy football legend Eddie Brundidge, whose athletic achievements paved the way for her own.
Like her father, Leah made a lasting impact in both sports and her professional career.
Her former teammates, friends, and colleagues remember her for her infectious smile, leadership, and unwavering encouragement.
Public visitation will be held on July 4 at 4:00 p.m. at Presley-Fluker Funeral Home in Brewton, Alabama, followed by the Omega Omega Service at 5:00 p.m., hosted by the Troy Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., where Leah served as Vice President.
Sorority members attending are asked to wear all black with no pants, while the funeral service will take place on July 5 at 2:30 p.m. at Baptist Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Brewton.
In honor of Leah’s legacy, her family has established a scholarship fund to continue her passion for uplifting others.
In lieu of flowers, donations are being accepted to support this initiative, ensuring her spirit of encouragement lives on.
