American professional tennis player Learner Tien was born in Irvine, California, to his parents, Khuong Dan Tien and Huyen Tien.

Despite having an ethnical background in the Asian continent, Tien professionally represents the United States in the major tournaments.

The athlete is very secretive when it comes to his personal life. He has not disclosed the whereabouts of his parents or possible siblings on his social media handles.

Learner Tien, born on December 2, 2005, is a phenomenal American tennis player who has been making waves in the competitive world of tennis.

As a gifted left-handed player with a powerful two-handed backhand, Tien has quickly risen through the ranks, catching the attention of tennis enthusiasts and professionals alike.

At just 16 years old, Tien won the 2022 USTA Boys 18s National Championship, which earned him a wildcard into the main draw of the 2022 US Open. This made him the youngest player to compete in the men’s singles main draw at the US Open. 

Currently, Tien has a career-high ATP singles ranking of No. 770, achieved on January 16, 2023. He also has a career-high ATP doubles ranking of No. 1,110, achieved on January 9, 2023.

In his most recent achievement, Tien, in collaboration with his partner Cooper Williams, clinched the boys’ doubles title at the 2023 Australian Open Junior Championships.

A lefty, Learner would play with his family at community courts in Irvine, California. His father was his primary coach until he was brought into the USTA Player Development program at 10 or 11 years old.

Learner Tien’s parents are believed to be of Asian descent. Khuong Dan Tien and his wife, Huyen, are originally from Vietnam.

Learner Tien’s father, Khuong Dan Tien, has been a real estate lawyer at the State Bar of California since 2001. Khuong is a graduate of California State University. He attended Whitter College School of Law in the 1990s.

Moreover, Learner’s father is also a member of Orange County and American & Vietnamese American Bar Associations. He has also received the American Jurisprudence Award, the California Excellence Award, and the General Counsel, New Life Christian Fellowship.

Although not much is known about Learner’s mother, Huyen, several sources claim that she is a former math teacher at the Anaheim school district.
