Leesport, PA Native and Kutztown University Rugby Star Jacob Stelluti Mourns Untimely Loss of Mother Melinda O’Neill, 49, a Businesswoman and Realtor

Melinda O’Neill, a renowned businesswoman from Leesport, Pennsylvania, and mother of Kutztown University rugby star Jacob Stelluti, passed away on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at the age of 49.

While her family has not yet disclosed the cause of her death, some social media posts state that Melinda O’Neill was battling cancer.

In 2019, Melinda O’Neill shared a post revealing that she had stage III breast cancer.

Melinda O’Neill touched the lives of many as a great businesswoman, realtor, and a wonderful mother and wife.

She had been serving as a professional realtor, designer, and stager at Iron Valley Real Estate of Berks since 2019, helping her clients find their dream homes.

Simultaneously, Melinda served as the president of award-winning Empire Home Center, a home improvement and remodeling business located in Leesport, PA.

Melinda O’Neill held the position of President at Empire Home Center from 2007 until her untimely death.

Prior to that, Melinda served as a licensed real estate agent at Coldwell Banker in Wyomissing, PA, for nearly two and a half years and as a marketing director of Dynaflo Pumps for almost a decade.

Melinda also served as the District Manager of ADP Inc. from 1996 to 2003 and District Manager of ADP TotalSource from 2000 to 2007.

She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Business and Financial Services Marketing Operations from La Salle University in 1997.

Melinda O’Neill is Survived By Her Husband, Harry, Three Sons, and The Whole Family

Melinda O’Neill was not just known for her prestigious career but also as a devoted wife to her longtime husband, Harry O’Neill, and a great mother to her three sons, James, Jacob, and Max.

She often shared pictures of her family on social media, expressing love and pride for them.

Furthermore, Melinda and Harry raised all three of their sons to be exceptional athletes.

Their eldest son, James Stelluti, played boys varsity football and rugby at Schuylkill Valley High School, from which he graduated in 2021.

James further continued his athletic journey at Mount St. Mary’s University, where he played for the men’s rugby team and graduated with a Bachelor’s in Business and Marketing in May 2025.

Similarly, James served as the game day intern at Eeadin Fightin Phils and research intern at Next Phase Rugby. He currently serves as the marketing coordinator at Empire Home Center.

Like his elder brother, Jacob Stelluti also attended Schuylkill Valley High School, where he excelled in both varsity football and wrestling, and graduated in 2023.

Jacob currently plays rugby for Kutztown University’s men’s rugby team and is scheduled to graduate in 2027 with a Bachelor of Business Management degree.

Melinda’s youngest son, Max, also plays football at his school.

Talking about her husband, like Melinda, Harry O’Neill, her husband, is also a realtor and works at Iron Valley Real Estate of Berks. He also serves as the vice president and partner at Empire Home Center.

Harry attended Schuylkill Valley High School and graduated from Spring Garden College.

In addition to her husband and kids, Melinda is survived by her parents, Dave Weidner and Mary Toni Spadafora, siblings, and the whole family.

Her loved ones will never forget her contribution to the community and her cheerful nature.

  • A viewing will be held at Kuhn Funeral Home on Friday, September 5, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.
  • The funeral will be held at Sacred Heart Church in West Reading on September 6th at 10 a.m. Following the service, a reception and celebration of life will be held at Fishpond West, 200 Swiftwater Lane, Leesport, until 5 p.m.
