Moorhead, Minnesota native Leland Mikkelson’s life was tragically cut short at just 13 years old. He is survived by his mother, Melissa, and younger brother Cayden.
The untimely passing of Leland Mikkelsen has left a big void in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who knew him.
So far, the primary reason behind his tragic demise has not been discovered yet. His parents and any media have yet to speak about the reason for his death as they are grieving his loss.
Leland Mikkelsen’s mother, Melissa Meier, works as a Child Educator and is a traveling aid at Concordia Health Staffing.
Similarly, she has been a substitute para at Fargo Public Schools since March 8, 2018, and a certified home health aide at Griswold’s Home Health since March 8, 2017.
Melissa, originally from Detriot Lakes, Minnesota, studied at Minnesota State Community and Technical College.
It appears Leland Mikkelsen’s parents aren’t together, as his mother’s Facebook posts primarily focus on him and his brother, with no mention of their biological father.
Meanwhile, intricate details of his father’s whereabouts remain unknown.
Mikkelsen’s relative, Alexis Spiros, has created a GoFundMe account to support his family with funeral service expenses.
The account has already raised over $7,000 towards its $12,000 target.
She took to her Facebook to share the link to the GoFundMe account, writing:
Very sad time for my family. If you feel called to donate to help alleviate funeral costs we will be forever grateful.
