Lexie Brown, a professional basketball player for the Los Angeles Sparks, stands as a formidable presence in the WNBA.

Born on October 27, 1994, in Boston, Massachusetts, Brown’s journey to the WNBA began at Dr. Phillips in Orlando, Florida. 

She not only led her high school team to an undefeated season but also earned a spot in the 2013 McDonald’s All-American Game.

Similarly, Brown guided the University of Maryland team to the NCAA Final Four, gaining the nickname “Big Shot Brown”. She continued to excel even after transferring to Duke University.

Eventually, she was drafted ninth overall by the Connecticut Sun in the 2018 WNBA Draft. 

The player showcased her skills with the Minnesota Lynx and later the Chicago Sky before joining the Los Angeles Sparks in 2022.

Anakin, a standout guard at Bolles High School, announced his commitment to Jacksonville University men’s basketball in April 2023.

The player showcased his talent and determination on the court despite facing injuries that sidelined him during his sophomore season.

He played a pivotal role in Bolles’ journey to the FHSAA regionals with an impressive average of 19.9 points per game.

Standing at 6-4, Anakin is a dynamic combo guard known for his explosive skill set. He encompasses everything from precise passing to tenacious perimeter defense.

Lastly, Anakin’s commitment to the Dolphins marks the continuation of a legacy defined by skill, and dedication.

The Brown family’s athletic prowess extends beyond the hardwood. Notably, Brown’s sisters, Alyssa and Alanni, are carving their own paths in the world of sports and beyond.

Alanni Brown is a Division I student-athlete majoring in Psychology at William & Mary University. 

A graduate of Wesleyan School, Alanni has showcased her talent both on the basketball court and in track and field.

Furthermore, she maintained an impressive average of 10.8 points and 5.0 rebounds throughout her high school career.

Currently a senior, Alanni has made significant contributions as a guard for the Tribe’s Women Basketball team since 2020.

Alyssa Brown, on the other hand, pursued a different path. She graduated from the University of Central Florida with a degree in Integrated Business and a focus in marketing.

Following her graduation from UCF in 2020, Alyssa ventured into the corporate world, securing positions at Rosen Hotels & Resorts and Virtual Dining Concepts.

Likewise, she honed her skills in social media branding, content creation, and managing celebrity profiles as a freelancer. 

The Matriarch and Patriarch: Dee & Tammy Brown

Lexie’s father, Dee Brown, is a retired professional basketball player who spent thirty years in the NBA.

His journey as a player took him through storied franchises such as the Boston Celtics, Toronto Raptors, and Orlando Magic.

He later transitioned into executive roles with organizations like the Orlando Magic, Detroit Pistons, and Sacramento Kings.

The former general manager of the Clippers’ NBA G League team, Dee also got associated with his alma mater.

His wife, Tammy, also embraced the sport, having played college basketball at American International College.

Together, they fostered an environment where basketball served as a bond that strengthened the ties of their family.
